Thiruvaiyaru Panchayat Town in Tamil Nadu, India

Thiruvaiyaru is a panchayat town in Thanjavur District in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Thiruvaiyaru is situated on the banks of the river Kaveri, 11 km (6.8 mi) from North of Thanjavur. National Highway No.136 from Thanjavur connect Thiruvaiyaru, Ariyalur, Perambalur byepass and Aththur bypass. State roads to Kumbakonam at 37 km (23 mi) in the East and Kallanai 33 km in the West connect Thiruvaiyaru.

Arasalar River River in India

The river Arasalar is a river that flows through Tamil Nadu and Pudducherry, and a tributary of Kaveri river which splits into 5 different rivers when it enters into Thanjavur district from Trichy. It separates from river Kaveri in the place near Pullambadi where the Kaveri is stopped by Lower Anaicut and from Thiruvaiyaru. The river is one of the seven rivers runns in the Karaikal region of Puducherry. Findings of Central Pollution Control Board had revealed that the river is polluted by high concentrations of nitrate and chromium due to mixing of sewage water into the river stream and industrial activities in 2013.

St. Sebastian Church, Papanasam Church in Tamil Nadu, India

Shrine of St. Sebastian is a church in the town of Papanasam in the Thanjavur district of Tamil Nadu, India. It was constructed as a mud church in about 1870 by Fr. Abraham, the parish priest of Thiruvaiyaru. It was renovated by Abraham's successor Gabriel Playoust and consecrated on 20 January 1894. The church is known for the car festival during Easter. The church is a part of the diocese of Kumbakonam. It was bifurcated from the parish of Ayyampettai. Rev. Fr. Cyrian Kappen was the first parish priest. It started functioning as an independent parish from 1933 February 11 onwards.
