Trigonopterus cupreus is a species of flightless weevil in the genus Trigonopterus from Indonesia. [1]
The specific name is derived from the Latin word cupreus , meaning "copper-colored". [1]
Individuals measure around 2.43–3.05 mm in length. The head, legs, and ventral surface are rust colored, and the elytra are a reddish-copper color. The pronotum can either be reddish-copper like the elytra, or it can be bronze or green. [1]
The species is found around elevations of 1,305–1,350 metres (4,281–4,429 ft) in Batu Dulang and Tepal on the island of Sumbawa, part of the Indonesian province of West Nusa Tenggara. [1]
T. cupreus is part of the T. dimorphus species group. [1]
