Market Place in Hong Kong, Cold Storage Fresh in Singapore, Mercató in Malaysia and The Marketplace in the Philippines is a high-end supermarket chain owned by DFI Retail Group. The chain also has a joint venture in mainland China with Beijing Hualian Group called BHG Market Place and formerly ran stores in Taiwan until they were sold to Carrefour.
Tesco has expanded its operations from the United Kingdom to 11 other countries. Tesco pulled out of the United States in 2013, but continues to see growth elsewhere. Tesco's international expansion strategy has responded to the need to be sensitive to local expectations in other countries by entering into joint ventures with local partners, such as Samsung Group in South Korea, and Charoen Pokphand in Thailand, appointing a very high proportion of local personnel to management positions. Ngan Lung Catering (Holdings) Limited is a cha chaan teng restaurant chain founded by Lau Choi Lung in 1963 in Hong Kong. The chain currently has 18 locations, primarily serving Kowloon and the New Territories. It also operates three restaurants on Hong Kong Island. Food items offered at each outlet varies, although most of the available food choices are standard, and are reminiscent of Hong Kong traditional cha chaan teng and bing sutt food culture.
The Progressive Lawyers Group, formed on 27 January 2015, is a pro-democracy civil group formed by local barristers, solicitors, law students and citizens holding law degrees. It aims to uphold and promote core values in Hong Kong including rule of law, judicial independence, democracy, human rights and freedom. The group was disbanded in July 2021.

On 29 December 2021, Stand News, one of the few remaining pro-democracy media outlets in Hong Kong following the passage of the Hong Kong national security law in 2020, was raided by the National Security Department of the Hong Kong Police Force. Media executives and journalists were arrested on the charge of "conspiring to publish seditious publications" on a large scale. As a result of the raid, Stand News ceased operations, the organisation's website and social media became inactive, and all its employees were dismissed. The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, along with leaders in Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom and United States, condemned the raid.
Carol Ng Man-yee is a Hong Kong political figure, former chairman of the Hong Kong Confederation of Trade Unions, and former member of the Labour Party. She has been actively involved in labor movements over the years, including the "Baggage Gate" incident and the establishment of the British Airways Union. She ran in the 2020 pro-democracy primaries for the Labour Party, losing in the New Territories West constituency. Ng was arrested on 6 January 2021, accused of violating the Hong Kong national security law, after participating in the 2020 Legislative Council primary election, and has been remanded in custody since the end of February.
