The University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, is a multi-campus South African public research university situated in the northern areas of central Johannesburg. It is more commonly known as Wits University or Wits. The university has its roots in the mining industry, as do Johannesburg and the Witwatersrand in general. Founded in 1896 as the South African School of Mines in Kimberley, it is the third oldest South African university in continuous operation.

Degree abbreviations are used as an alternative way to specify an academic degree instead of spelling out the title in full, such as in reference books such as Who's Who and on business cards. Many degree titles have more than one possible abbreviation, with the abbreviation used varying between different universities. In the UK it is normal not to punctuate abbreviations for degrees with full stops, although this is done at some universities.

University of the Faroe Islands

Catholic University College of Ghana

Numerous distinguished Catholic Universities have been established all across the world by the Catholic Church, inclusive is the Catholic University College of Ghana, Fiapre. The university is among the very dignified private universities. Over the years the Catholic University of Ghana has moved to gain higher reputation nationally as well as international recognition. The university is located in Ghana specifically at Fiapre, Sunyani in the Bono region. It was granted accreditation by the National Accreditation Board on 4 December 2002. The first batch of students started on 3 March 2003. The formal inauguration of the university was on 13 November 2003.

Garden City University College

The Garden City University College is one of the private universities in Ghana. It is located at Kumasi in the Ashanti Region. It was established in 2001. as the College of Information Technology and Management Systems. The College was converted into the Garden City University College in 2004. It has been granted accreditation by the National Accreditation Board.
