Varsha Varman (born 1 June 1994) [2] is a professional Indian sport shooter. She won the bronze medal at the 2014 Asian Games at Incheon in the women's double trap team event, along with Shagun Chowdhary and Shreyasi Singh. Varman thus became the first sportsperson from Bhopal Madhya Pradesh to win a medal at the Asian Games. She is a prodigy. [3] She is the only athlete from her state to have represented India at the Commonwealth Games.[ citation needed ]

Varsha studied at St. Joseph's Co-ed School, Bhopal. Varsha also ranked #1 in the Ajmer region of the Central Board of Secondary Education examinations in Class XII, [4] and 4th in the entire country with 97.2%. [5] She has been awarded the prestigious Eklvaya Award [6] in 2013 and the Vikram Award [7] in 2015 for her meritorious performances.

Education

She had earlier pursued a law degree at the University of Warwick in UK, but moved to Harvard to be able to focus more on shooting. [8] She is currently studying economics at Harvard University in the United States. [9]

Geetika Jakhar Indian wrestler

Geetika Jakhar is an Indian wrestler. Geetika comes from a family of sportspersons. She got Arjuna Award - 2006. She is the only women wrestler in the history of Indian sports to be judged the Best Wrestler of the 2005 Commonwealth Games and also who won medals at Asian Games 2006 and 2014 respectively. Mangte Chungneijang Mary Kom is an Indian amateur boxer, politician, and incumbent Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha. She is the only woman to win the World Amateur Boxing Championship six times, the only female boxer to have won a medal in each one of the first seven World Championships, and the only boxer to win eight World Championship medals. Nicknamed Magnificent Mary, she is the only Indian female boxer to have qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics, competing in the flyweight (51 kg) category and winning a bronze medal. She had also been ranked as the world's No. 1 female light-flyweight by the International Boxing Association (amateur) (AIBA). She became the first Indian female boxer to win a gold medal in the Asian Games in 2014 at Incheon, South Korea and is the first Indian female boxer to win gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Rahi Sarnobat Indian sport shooter

Rahi Jeevan Sarnobat is a female athlete from India who competes in the 25 metre pistol shooting event. She won her first gold medal at the 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games in Pune, India. She is the first woman to win a gold medal in shooting at the Asian Games for India – she won the gold at the 2018 Jakarta Palembang Asian Games in the women's 25 metre pistol event. She won two gold medals in 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, the first of the two golds in coming in the 25 metre pistol pair event with Anisa Sayyed. She had previously won gold in the 25 metre pistol event at the 2008 Youth Commonwealth Games, which were held in India.

Saikhom Mirabai Chanu Indian weightlifter (born 1994)

Saikhom Mirabai Chanu is an Indian weightlifter. She won the silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in Women's 49 kg category. Mirabai Chanu has won the World Championships and multiple medals at the Commonwealth Games. She was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India for her contributions to the sport. She was awarded the sporting honour Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna by the Government of India in 2018.

Shreyasi Singh is an Indian shooter and politician. She competes in the double trap event. She won a gold medal in the Shooting at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia - Women's double trap and a silver medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland. In 2020, she joined India's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and is a Member of Bihar Legislative Assembly from Jamui constituency.
