The Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the Soviet Union was created in 1924 by the Supreme Court of the Soviet Union as a court for the higher military and political personnel of the Red Army and Fleet. In addition it was an immediate supervisor of military tribunals and the supreme authority of military appeals.
Vasiliy Borisovich Kaptyukh is a Belarusian former discus thrower who won the Olympic bronze medal in 1996. He has in fact never won gold or silver medals in major competitions, and finished fourth in major contests such as the 2000 and 2004 Summer Olympics, despite setting his personal best throw at the former, with 67.59 metres.

Vasiliy Vladimirovich Khmelevskiy was a Soviet athlete who competed mainly in the hammer throw. He won a bronze medal at the 1972 Summer Olympics with a throw of 74.04 metres, behind compatriot Anatoly Bondarchuk and Jochen Sachse of East Germany. He also finished in third place at the national championships in 1971 and 1972. He achieved a personal best of 74.98 meters on 8 July 1975 in Minsk.

Patric Suter is a retired male hammer thrower from Switzerland. His personal best is 80.51 metres, achieved in September 2003 in Löffingen, is the current Swiss record. Suter is also a five time national champion. In December 2007, Suter officially retired from athletics after a dispute with the national governing body. A member of the Hochwacht Zug club, Suter trained under the guidance of Vasiliy Sidorenko.

The men's hammer throw at the 2000 Summer Olympics as part of the athletics program was held at the ANZ Stadium on Saturday, 23 September and Sunday, 24 September. There were 44 competitors from 24 nations. The event was won by Szymon Ziółkowski of Poland, the nation's first victory in the event and first medal of any color in the men's hammer throw since 1960. Silver went to Nicola Vizzoni, the first medal winner in the event for Italy. Igor Astapkovich, who had won a silver medal on the Unified Team in 1992, took bronze for the first medal credited to Belarus in the event. Astapkovich was the 11th man to win multiple medals in the hammer throw.
Tatyana Ivanovna Sidorenko is a former Soviet, Russian and Croatian competitive volleyball player and Olympic gold medalist. Sidorenko won a gold medal with the Soviet team at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul and a silver medal with the Unified Team at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona.
Vasiliy Olegovich Kharlamov is a Russian decathlete. In May 2023 he was found guilty of a doping offence dating back to 12 October 2012. Accordingly, his results from that date have been changed to disqualifications, and he was suspended for four years from May 2023.
Vasiliy Yershov was a Ukrainian javelin thrower who competed in the 1976 Summer Olympics for Soviet Union. Yershov tested positive for anabolic steroids at the 1978 European Athletics Championships and was subsequently banned from sport for 18 months.

Margarita Sidorenko is a Russian Paralympic archer. She won a gold medal in the mixed team recurve event at the 2020 Summer Paralympics, together with Kirill Smirnov, and placed ninth individually. She won three silver medals in the team recurve at the 2015–2017 world championships.
