Kim Carnes is an American singer and songwriter born and raised in Los Angeles. A veteran writer of many of her own hits, as well as those for numerous other artists, she began her career in 1966 as a member of folk group the New Christy Minstrels, before embarking on a solo career as a songwriter and performer in the early 1970s, playing in local clubs. She also worked for several years as a session background singer with the famed Waters Sisters, Maxine Waters Willard and Julia Waters Tillman, who were later featured in the acclaimed 2013 documentary, 20 Feet from Stardom). In 1971, after she signed her first publishing deal with Jimmy Bowen, Carnes released her debut album Rest on Me. Released in 1975, Carnes' self-titled second album primarily contained self-penned songs, including her first charting single "You're a Part of Me," which reached No. 32 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart. In the following year, Carnes released Sailin', produced by the legendary Jerry Wexler, which featured "Love Comes from Unexpected Places." The song won the American Song Festival and the award for Best Composition at the Tokyo Song Festival in 1976.

Comes a Time is the ninth studio album by Canadian-American singer-songwriter Neil Young, released by Reprise Records in October 1978. It features backing harmonies sung by Nicolette Larson and additional accompaniment by musicians that had accompanied Young on his commercial pinnacle, Harvest. Like Harvest, the lyrics to many of its songs are inspired by relationships. In his memoir, Waging Heavy Peace, Young describes Comes a Time as one of his best albums ever.

Livin' it Up is the tenth studio album by American country music singer George Strait, released in 1990 on MCA Records. It has been certified platinum by the RIAA. The tracks "Drinking Champagne", "Love Without End, Amen", and "I've Come to Expect It From You" were all released as singles; "Drinking Champagne" was a #4 hit on the Hot Country Songs charts, while the other two singles were both Number One hits. "She Loves Me " was written and originally recorded by Conway Twitty, and was later recorded on Gary Allan's 1998 album It Would Be You.
What Am I Gonna Do About You is the eleventh studio album by American country music artist Reba McEntire. The album was released September 2, 1986 on MCA Records and was produced by McEntire and Jimmy Bowen. It was her second #1 album on the Billboard country charts, containing two #1 singles, What Am I Gonna Do About You and One Promise Too Late. The opening track "Why Not Tonight" was also featured on the end credits of the 1990 film Tremors which was her film debut.
The Last One to Know is the twelfth studio album by American country music artist Reba McEntire, released on September 7, 1987, by MCA Nashville. The title track and Love Will Find Its Way to You were both Number One singles from the album. It was also her first album to chart on the Billboard 200, in addition to peaking at #3 on Top Country Albums. "Just Across the Rio Grande" was also covered by Holly Dunn the following year in Across the Rio Grande.
Reba is the fourteenth studio album by American country music singer Reba McEntire. McEntire collaborated once again with former rockabilly artist and legendary music producer Jimmy Bowen, and the album was released on April 25, 1988. Gone were the honky tonk stable steel guitars and fiddles of My Kind of Country and Have I Got a Deal for You, to be replaced by a highly produced and orchestrated production. The album recalls to mind the music on the hit parade of the late 1940s and early 1950s. The Nashville and country-soul crossover sounds of the 1960s are also represented. Created before For My Broken Heart and It's Your Call, this was one of the first of McEntire's albums to have a conceptual feeling. This was created by song choice and the use of similar instrumentation and vocal arrangement throughout the album. Reba was a success.

The album debuted at number 3 on the Country Albums chart for the week of October 16, 1993, and it peaked at #1 for the week of January 22, 1994. It stayed in the Top 10 for 12 weeks and came off the charts at number 47 for the week of January 11, 1997.
A Place in the Sun is the fifth studio album by American country music artist Tim McGraw. It was released on May 4, 1999. "Please Remember Me" was nominated for Best Male Country Vocal Performance at the 2000 Grammy Awards. "My Best Friend" was nominated in the same category the following year. The album's compact disc version was originally available with a limited edition booklet that contained two transparent sleeves inside. Subsequent releases have all the same information, though without the transparent pages.

This was Lonestar's first studio album to have a crossover-friendly country-pop sound, which was a departure from their earlier neotraditional country sound. It is also their first studio album to be recorded as a four-piece as bassist and second lead vocalist John Rich left the band the previous year in 1998. Instead of replacing him with a new member, the band hired several session bassists to play the album's bass parts.

The Best is the first compilation album by American country music artist Dan Seals. It features his highest charting songs from his previous four albums beginning with Rebel Heart (1983). The album has been certified platinum. The new track, "One Friend" was originally found on his 1984 album San Antone, and was re-recorded for this album, and was released as a single and became his seventh number one song in a row.
