Vivian Dsena (born 28 june1988) is an Indian actor and former model who predominantly works in Hindi television. Dsena is considered among most popular Hindi television actors. He is known for his significant shows like Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani, Madhubala - Ek Ishq Ek Junoon, Shakti - Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki and Sirf tum.

Contents

Dsena made his acting debut with kasamh se in 2008. [1] He later received wider reach for his portrayal of Abhay raichand in pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani. [2] He established himself as a successful leading actor by playing Rishabh Kundra the superstar in Madhubala-Ek Ishq Ek junoon and Harman Singh in Shakti- Astitva ke ehsaas ki. His shows performance earned him several accolades 2 Indian television Academy award, 2 Gold award, 3 golden petal and Asian viewers television awards. [3]

He also participated in reality shows like khatron ke khiladi 7, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaja 8 and Bigg Boss season 18. Vivian Dsena entered the popular TV show Udaariyaan midway. [4] He was last seen as Guest in Laughter chefs for Holi special episode with Rubina Dilaik. [5] Dsena ranked 23 in the IMDb list of "best Indian (Hindi) television actors of all time". [6]

Early life and family

Dsena was born on 28 June 1988 [7] [8] at Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, India. [9] His mother is Hindu, while his father is a Christian. [7] Through his father, his grandfather was Portuguese while his grandmother was of British descent. [10] In an interview he stated that his mother was an athlete and his father a footballer, leading to his passion for football since the age of 10. He is a fan of the football player Lionel Messi. Career

Modelling

Vivian started his career in modeling as a Top - 10 contestant in the Gladrags Mr.India contest, 2007. [12] [13] Dsena has done numerous ramp shows with most of the reputed brands like Levis, Flying Machine, SPYKAR and PepeJeans. He also has done advertisements for Jet Airways and Pantaloons adding more to his credit list.

Television debut and breakthrough

As a television actor Vivian debuted in 2008 with Ekta Kapoor's popular TV series 'Kasamh Se' by Playing the role of Vicky jai Walia on Zee TV. [14] [15] This was followed by his next project 'Ganga' which was aired on Colours. Where he played the role of Shivam. [16]

Pyar Ki Ek Kahani

He played a 200 year old vampire guy called Abhay Raichand in the Indian supernatural series, 'Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani' on STAR One. [17] [18] This show is an Indian Version of the Twilight saga. [19] this show, where Dsena played the vampire Abhay Raichand, was a major success and is considered a landmark in Indian youth-centric supernatural series. Dsena's portrayal of the vampire character helped establish his public notability. [20]

Madhubala- Ek Ishq Ek Junoon

This romantic drama, where vivian played Rishabh Kundra, is widely considered a turning point in his career. [21] [22] The show's popularity and his potrayal of RK helped him to establish as a leading actor in the indian television industry. fans often praise his performance and the chemistry he shared with co-star drashti dhami, who played madhubala. [23] years later, Madhubala remains one of television's most memorable shows, and RK is still considered one of the best role. [24] [25] The show had a strong TRP (Television Rating Points) performance, with an opening TRP of 2.8, a highest TRP of 4.5, and a closing TRP of 1.1.

[26] [27] The sucess of Shatki solidified vivian's position as a leading actor, and he continued to be recognized for his performances in other shows as well. "Shakti" ran for 3 years, completing 700 episodes, and became the fourth longest-running show on Colors TV. [28] [29]

in 2021, he starred in sirf tum romantic television series alongside eisha singh. [30] [31] it was broadcast on colors tv and voot now jio hotstar from 15 november 2021 to 16 september 2022, and while it was a typical drama with romance and power play, it was considered a success, with 232 episodes. Dsena has maintained his position as one of the most desirable men in Asia for an incredible eight years in a row. He has consistently ranked in the prestigious 50 Sexiest Asian Men. [33] In 2015, Vivian made his debut on the list, securing the 5th spot, which marked the beginning of his journey as a global icon. The following year, he climbed to 7th, solidifying his position as one of the most admired celebrities in the Asian entertainment industry. In 2017, he further proved his growing popularity by ranking 4th. But it was in 2018 that Vivian cemented his place among the elite, ranking 2nd on the list. This was a huge achievement as he surpassed global stars like Zayn Malik (ranked 4th), Hrithik Roshan (ranked 5th), and Shahid Kapoor (ranked 3rd), with only BTS claiming the top spot. [34] [35]

Even in 2019 and 2021, Vivian continued to maintain the ranks by ranking 3rd in both years, staying firmly in the top tier of the list. [36] [37]

Personal life

In 2013, Dsena married his Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani co-star Vahbiz Dorabjee but the couple filed for divorce in 2016. [38] [39] [40] The divorce was finalized in 2021. [41]

In 2022, Dsena married Nouran Aly, an Egyptian journalist. They have a daughter together. Dsena converted to Islam in 2019 and is a practicing Muslim. [42] [43] Before his conversion to Islam, he was a Christian. [44]

Dsena often gets criticized, especially after his divorce from his first wife, which led to many negative rumors spreading about him. Even to this day, he continues to face criticism. [45]

Sports

Dsena has also been a national-level football player. [46] [47] He has also been a part of the All Star Football Club, a celebrity football club that raises funds for charity. [48] Dsena was seen playing football with other celebrities in the All Stars Footy League 2023. [49]
