Volcana (Claire Selton) is a supervillain in Superman: The Animated Series and Justice League. Voiced by Peri Gilpin, she made her first appearance in the episode "Where There's Smoke". [1]
Introduced in the episode "Where There's Smoke", Claire Selton shows an aptitude for pyrokinesis as a teenager. Her parents send her to Metropolis' Center for Paranormal Studies to help her learn to control and develop her powers, but she is taken by government agents, who attempt to weaponize her powers.
Volcana eventually escapes the agents and becomes a thief and fugitive. She is eventually recaptured, but Superman rescues her and takes her to a deserted island. [2] Volcana also makes a cameo appearance in the episode "Unity", in which she fights Supergirl.
Volcana appears in issues #20 and #41 of the tie-in comic Superman Adventures .
In the Justice League episode "Only a Dream", Volcana is incarcerated in a Metropolis prison before escaping during a riot. She joins forces with fellow escapee Firefly, but both are subdued by the Justice League.
In Justice League Unlimited , it is revealed that the government project who kidnapped and experimented on her is part of Project Cadmus. [3] She later joins Gorilla Grodd's Secret Society. After Darkseid is resurrected and kills most of the Society, Volcana and the surviving members work with the Justice League to stop him.
Volcana possesses pyrokinesis, which allows her to generate fire and fly. As such, she requires oxygen to fuel her powers.
The Legion of Doom is a group of supervillains who originated in Challenge of the Superfriends, an animated series from Hanna-Barbera based on DC Comics' Justice League. The Legion of Doom has since been incorporated into the main DC Universe, appearing in comics, as well as further animated and live-action adaptations, and also video games.

Harley Quinn is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. She was created by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm for Batman: The Animated Series as a henchwoman for the Joker, and debuted in its 22nd episode, "Joker's Favor", on September 11, 1992. While intended to appear in one episode, Quinn became a recurring character within the DC Animated Universe (DCAU) as the Joker's sidekick and love interest, and was adapted into DC Comics' canon seven years later, beginning with the one-shot Batman: Harley Quinn #1. Quinn's origin story features her as a former psychologist at Gotham City's Arkham Asylum who was manipulated by and fell in love with the Joker, her patient, eventually becoming his accomplice and lover. The character's alias is a play on the stock character Harlequin from the 16th-century Italian theater commedia dell'arte.
