Why Can't I Be You? is an MTV reality show in which people got to step into the lives of others whom they wish to be like. The series was hosted by Nick Zano and centered on the premise of an individual coming forward with the goal of being more like someone else (typically someone who would seem to be a polar opposite). The person whom the individual desired to be more like was offered $1,000 to reform the individual, making him more like him or herself over the course of forty-eight hours. Video coverage of the two days illustrates the change. The show ended with the two people meeting once more with Zano and discussing the transformation. The theme song to this show was provided by the band Locksley.
