Celebrity Rap Superstar is an American reality show which premiered on MTV on August 30, 2007. The series was hosted by Kevin Hart and Liz Hernandez.
The series features eight rappers teaching eight celebrities to be able to perform rap songs, which in turn were voted on by the viewers. [1]
The judges had the power in various weeks to choose one or more celebrities to be safe from voting and move forward to the following week's round. The celebrity with the lowest votes from the viewers would be eliminated from the competition. The judges panel consisted of DMC, Da Brat and Big Boy. The hosts were comic Kevin Hart and radio personality Liz Hernandez.
The series was broadcast live on some Thursdays, 10:00 PM Eastern and tape-delayed on others until some controversies arose during the competition that ultimately led to the remainder of the season being broadcast live.
The judges' least favorite pairing battled it out while performing Fabolous's "Can't Let You Go" featuring Lil Mo to determine who gets eliminated. Lil Mo guest starred to provide her vocals.

During week 4, the votes were tallied and each contestant was ranked. The ranking had no effect on the outcome of elimination but was used to pair the contestants off (1st with 6th, 2nd with 5th, and 3rd with 4th).

Cheryl Renee James, also known as Salt, is an American rapper. She is best known as a member of the female rap trio Salt-N-Pepa, which also includes Pepa and Spinderella. James starred in The Salt-N-Pepa Show, a reality TV series focusing on reforming the group; which aired on the VH1 network in 2008.
Idol Gives Back was a charitable campaign that spanned two episodes of American Idol during its sixth season. A second Idol Gives Back concert and fundraiser occurred on April 9, 2008, during the seventh season of the show. Idol Gives Back was not held in 2009 due to the economic crisis and recession. The executive producer released a statement saying that it was not the time to be asking for money from the American public. However, the fundraiser returned on April 21, 2010, during the top 7 results show of season 9. It did not return in future seasons.

It is a spin-off to the 2018's SPOP Sing! due to its similarities. The competition was streamed digitally on meLISTEN, meWatch LIVE and the Entertainment Mediacorp YouTube channel, which premiered on 2 November 2021.
