Taking the Stage is a musical reality show set at the School for Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is produced by Nick Lachey, a SCPA alumnus, for MTV. The first season chronicled the lives of five high school students and their friends as they train for careers in the arts. [1] [2] [3] The 2nd season aired from January to April 2010 on Thursday nights on MTV at 11 pm.

The School for Creative and Performing Arts (SCPA) is a magnet arts school in Cincinnati in the US state of Ohio, and part of the Cincinnati Public Schools (CPS). SCPA was founded in 1973 as one of the first magnet schools in Cincinnati and became the first school in the country to combine a full range of arts studies with a complete college-preparatory academic program for elementary through high school students. Of the approximately 350 arts schools in the United States, SCPA is one of the oldest and has been cited as a model for both racial integration and for arts programs in over 100 cities.

The first season of Taking The Stage premiered on March 19, 2009 and after an eight-month hiatus, the season finale aired January 17, 2010. It followed five kids who attend SCPA on the cusp of greatness. The finale aired in cahoots with the Season 2 premier.

The second season of Taking The Stage premiered on January 28, 2010 and concluded on April 15, 2010 with an order of 12 episodes. It continued to follow the trials and tribulations of students at SCPA. This season the series changed it format from 1 hour episodes, to a 30-minute format, despite a couple of episodes. It has been confirmed by several students from the class of 2010 that the cast of this season were not in fact real students of the school, excluding Tyler Nelson, who graduated and returned to reprise his role in season 1. MTV found them in various states and they were hired to act in a "situational reality" series. In this season, unlike last, the cast is interviewed so the viewer can hear their thoughts during the show unlike last season where the viewer had to rely on simply conversations, facial expressions, and the soundtracks.

The Hills: New Beginnings is an American reality television show, developed as a sequel to The Hills. The series reunited the original cast members, alongside some new faces, and followed them from the party filled, spontaneous trip planning, club hopping, bed hopping and tumultuous filled 20s to their more tamed, less wild, but yet still crazy life of their 30s in Los Angeles. The series was canceled after two seasons in January 2022.
