Datuk Seri Panglima Wilfred Bumburing (born 2 December 1951) is a Malaysian politician who served as the Deputy Chief Minister of Sabah and Member of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Tamparuli from 1985 to 1999 and again from May 2013 to May 2018,Member of Parliament (MP) for Tuaran from March 2008 to May 2013.
Bumburing was first elected to the State Assembly in 1986,as a member of the United Sabah Party (PBS). In 1994,he joined Bernard Dompok in defecting from PBS to join the Barisan Nasional coalition,setting up the party that subsequently became the United Pasokmomogun Kadazandusun Murut Organisation (UPKO). He was a Deputy Chief Minister in the Barisan Nasional government. [1]
He was elected to federal Parliament in the 2008 election for the seat of Tuaran. [2] [3] His election came after UPKO's incumbent member Wilfred Madius Tangau stood down citing the wishes of the party's leadership. [4] In 2011,he left UPKO to sit in Parliament as a member of People's Justice Party (PKR) of the opposition Pakatan Rakyat coalition. [5] He recontested the 2013 election as a PKR candidate,but lost his seat to Tangau,who had returned to the UPKO deputy presidency. He did,however,win the seat of Tamparuli in the Sabah State Legislative Assembly. [6] In 2016 Wilfred Bumburing left PKR for the newly formed Love Sabah Party (PCS) and was elected as its new president. [7]
On 16 February 2024,Wilfred Bumburing returned to the United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (UPKO) after leaving the party for 12 years. [8]

Christina Liew is a Hong Kong-born Malaysian politician who has served as the State Minister of Tourism,Culture and Environment of Sabah for the second term in the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) state administration under Chief Minister Hajiji Noor since January 2023 and the first term in the Heritage Party (WARISAN) state administration under former Chief Minister Shafie Apdal from May 2018 to the collapse of the WARISAN administration in September 2020 as well as Member of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Api-Api since May 2013. Datuk Jonathan bin Yasin is a Malaysian politician who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ranau since May 2018. He served as the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs II for the second term in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob and former Minister Hamzah Zainuddin from August 2021 to the collapse of the BN administration in November 2022 and the first term in Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration under former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and former Minister Hamzah from March 2020 to the collapse of the PN administration in August 2021. He is a direct member of the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) coalition. He joined the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU),a component party of the PN coalition after resigning from the People's Justice Party (PKR),a component party of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition. He later resigned from BERSATU but remained in GRS as direct member.
The United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation is a multiracial political party based in Sabah,Malaysia. The party was rebranded from its previous party's name,United Pasokmomogun Kadazandusun Murut Organisation using the same UPKO acronym;which was a widely known Kadazan-Dusun-Murut based party in 2019. The party had earlier been renamed once before in 1999 from its initial 1994 formation name of Sabah Democratic Party. In August 2021,UPKO has officially joined the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition as a component party. It is one of the four component parties of the Pakatan Harapan ruling coalition in Malaysia.
Ewon Benedick is a Malaysian politician who has served as Minister of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development in the Anwar Ibrahim Cabinet since December 2022,the Member of Parliament (MP) for Penampang since November 2022 and Member of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Kadamaian since May 2018. He served as State Minister of Rural Development of Sabah in the Sabah Heritage Party (WARISAN) administration under former Chief Minister Shafie Apdal from May 2018 to the collapse of the WARISAN state administration in September 2020. He is a member of the United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (UPKO),a component party of the PH coalition. He has served as the 3rd President of UPKO since January 2023 and the 2nd State Chairman of PH of Sabah since December 2024. He was also Vice President of UPKO before his promotion to the party presidency in January 2023. He is one of the two UPKO MPs and sole UPKO MLA. He was set to officially take over Wilfred Madius Tangau as the 3rd UPKO president after the UPKO party election in the party triennial delegates convention on 16 October 2022. However on 10 October 2022,the 14th Parliament was dissolved and the 2022 general election was to be held on 19 November 2022,the convention was delayed to 15 January 2023.
James Peter Julitih Ongkili was a Malaysian politician. He was the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department from 1983 to 1986 and Deputy Chief Minister of Sabah from 1976 to 1981. He was also the Member of Sabah State Legislative Assembly for Tamparuli from 1976 to 1981 and Member of Parliament for Tuaran from 1978 to 1986.
