Willem II Vrouwen was the women's football section of Willem II football club from Tilburg, the Netherlands. They were founder members of the Eredivisie Vrouwen in 2007. In their first season, they finished second out of six teams, the highest finish they would have. The following season, the club was tied for first place entering its final match before losing to league champion AZ Alkmaar, 6–0. [1]

In February 2011, Willem II announced they were withdrawing support for their women's section for financial reasons. The women's club main sponsor had dropped its support for the team. [2]

The Vrouwen Eredivisie, also known as the Azerion VrouwenEredivisie due to a sponsorship contract, is the highest women's football league in the Netherlands. Organized by the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB), it was established in 2007 as a professional league and played for five seasons until 2012, when the Netherlands and Belgium merged their leagues into a single combined league, the BeNe League. After three seasons, the BeNe League folded, and the Eredivisie restarted in the 2015–16 season. The top two Eredivisie teams each year qualify for the UEFA Women's Champions League.

The 2007–08 Eredivisie Vrouwen was the first season of the Netherlands women's professional football league. It took place from 29 August 2007 until 21 May 2008 with six teams participating. AZ became the first Eredivisie winners. The 60 matches of the season had a 45,695 total attendance.

The 2008–09 Eredivisie Vrouwen was the second season of the Netherlands women's professional football league. The league took place from 21 August 2008 to 31 May 2009 with seven teams. AZ successfully defended the title and became champions for a second year running. AZ won the title in its final match day, defeating Willem II 6–0 to get 3 points clear of Willem and ADO Den Haag. The 84 matches of the season had a 56,365 total attendance.

The 2009–10 Eredivisie Vrouwen was the third season of the Netherlands women's professional football league. The league took place from 1 October 2009 to 19 May 2010 with six teams. AZ successfully defended the title and became champions for a third year running. The 60 matches of the season had a 22,140 total attendance.
