Noureddine Morceli is a retired Algerian middle-distance runner. He was the winner of the 1500 metres at the 1996 Summer Olympics and won three straight gold medals at that distance at the World Championships in Athletics. He set world records in the 1500 m, the mile run and the 3000 metres.
Gulnara Iskanderovna Samitova-Galkina is a Russian distance runner. In July 2004 she ran 3000 metres steeplechase in a new world record of 9:01.59 minutes. Early that year she won a bronze medal over 1500 metres at the 2004 IAAF World Indoor Championships.

In 2011 he had the best ever performance by a Venezuelan runner at the World Championships, coming eighth in the 1500 metres. He set a Venezuelan record of 3:36.96 minutes in the semi-final.
Yasunori Uchitomi, is a Japanese former long-distance runner who specialized in the 3000 meters steeplechase. His personal best for the event is 8:26.48 minutes, set in 1997.
Lyubov Kremlyova is a Russian former middle- and long-distance runner who competed internationally both for the Soviet Union and Russia. She had her greatest success indoors, winning medals at the 1991 IAAF World Indoor Championships and 1992 European Athletics Indoor Championships. She was stripped of a second World Indoor medal in 1995 after a positive test for steroids.
Panagiotis Papoulias is a Greek former track and field athlete who competing middle- and long-distance running events. His greatest achievement was a bronze medal at the 1996 European Athletics Indoor Championships. He was a two-time participant at the World Championships in Athletics and also ran at the 1998 IAAF World Cross Country Championships and 1998 European Athletics Championships.
Brahim Kaazouzi is a Moroccan middle-distance runner who specialises in the 1500 metres. He broke into the world's top 100 athletes in the 2014 season. He represented his country at the 2016 Summer Olympics. He gained selection for Morocco at the 2016 Summer Olympics through a former personal best run of 3:35.76 minutes in 2016.
Olga Nelyubova is a Russian female former track and field athlete who competed in middle-distance running events. Her sole international medal came at the 1988 European Athletics Indoor Championships, where she was the 800 metres silver medallist behind West Germany's Sabine Zwiener.
