The 48th Assembly District of Wisconsin is one of 99 districts in the Wisconsin State Assembly. [1] Located in south-central Wisconsin, the district is comprised of northeastern suburban and exurban areas of the Madison area within northeast Dane County and the towns of Elba and Portland in southwest Dodge County. It includes the city of Sun Prairie, and parts of the city of Madison including the Ridgewood, Mayfair Park, Burke Heights and High Crossing neighborhoods. The district also contains East Towne Mall. [2] The seat is represented by Democrat Samba Baldeh since January 2021. [3]

The 48th Assembly district is located within Wisconsin's 16th Senate district, along with the 46th and 47th Assembly districts. [4]

The 50th Assembly District of Wisconsin is one of 99 districts in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Located in southern Wisconsin, the district comprises all of Green County, and parts of southwest Dane County including the southwestern exurban areas outside of Madison. It includes the cities of Brodhead and Monroe, and the villages of Albany, Belleville, Brooklyn, Browntown, Monticello, New Glarus, and Oregon. The district also contains Cadiz Springs State Recreation Area. The district is represented by Republican Tony Kurtz, since January 2019. After the 2024 redistricting, Kurtz no longer resides in the new 50th district.

Samba Baldeh is an American information technology professional, and Democratic politician. He is a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing the 48th Assembly district since 2021. He is the first Muslim member of the Wisconsin Legislature. Before his election to the assembly, he served six years on the Madison Common Council, and was president of the Council from 2018 to 2019.

It includes the cities of Boscobel, Fennimore, Lancaster, Platteville, and Prairie du Chien, and the villages of Bagley, Bell Center, Bloomington, Cassville, De Soto, Dickeyville, Eastman, Ferryville, Gays Mills, Lynxville, Mount Hope, Mount Sterling, Patch Grove, Potosi, Soldiers Grove, Steuben, Tennyson, Wauzeka, and Woodman. It includes the village of Shorewood Hills, the western portion of downtown and the near west neighborhoods of the city of Madison. The district contains all of the University of Wisconsin–Madison campus and Edgewood College, as well as landmarks such as the Wisconsin Historical Society, the State Street pedestrian mall, Camp Randall Stadium, the Kohl Center, the University of Wisconsin–Madison Arboretum, Henry Vilas Zoo, UW Health University Hospital, and historic Forest Hill Cemetery.
