Woo Hye-rim (born September 1, 1992), referred to as Hyerim (also spelled as Hyelim), is a South Korean singer-songwriter. She was a member of the South Korean girl group Wonder Girls.

Wonder Girls South Korean girl group

Wonder Girls (Hangul: 원더걸스) was a South Korean girl group formed by JYP Entertainment. The group debuted in February 2007 with the single "Irony" and five members: Sunye, Yeeun, Sunmi, Hyuna and Sohee. After Hyuna's departure in July, Yubin was added into the group prior to the release of their debut studio album, The Wonder Years (2007). The album spawned the hit single "Tell Me", which topped various South Korea's on and offline music charts.

Early life

Woo Hye-rim was born on September 1, 1992 in Seoul, South Korea. She has been a Hong Kong resident for 14 years. She can speak Korean, English, Cantonese and Mandarin fluently. Her father is a grandmaster and promoter of Taekwondo, with the highest 9th-degree black belt in the discipline.

Career

Pre-debut

Originally, Lim was a part of 5-member group in training in 2009. While still in training, the group flew to China where they appeared in numerous variety shows performing dance routines and songs to showcase their talent to the Chinese audience. As the group had no official name they were widely known to the Chinese audiences as "JYP Sisters" or simply as "Sisters". They were also dubbed by JYPE as the "Chinese Wonder Girls". However, before the group could officially debut, two of their members withdrew leaving only three which included Lim herself as well as Jia and Fei, who both went onto become members of Miss A. JYP Entertainment Music label in South Korea

JYP Entertainment Corporation is one of the largest entertainment companies in South Korea. It was established by J. Y. Park in 1997. It operates as a record label, talent agency, music production company, event management and concert production company, and music publishing house. Notable artists include 2PM, JJ Project, 15&, Got7, Day6, Twice, Stray Kids, and Itzy. It has also handled Rain, G.O.D, Wonder Girls, 2AM, and Miss A. Founder Park continues to be involved with the music production scene.

Miss A Chinese-Korean girl group

Miss A was a South Korean girl group, formed by JYP Entertainment in 2010, consisting of Fei, Jia, Min, and Suzy. Jia and Min left the group in May 2016 and November 2017, respectively, before the group officially disbanded on December 27, 2017.

On January 22, 2010, she was announced to be joining the Wonder Girls, after member Sunmi put her musical career on hiatus to focus on studies. [3] [4] [5] Her official debut stage with the group was on February 5, 2010, in a performance in Shanghai. [6]

Lee Sun-mi, known mononymously as Sunmi, is a South Korean singer. She debuted in 2007 as a member of South Korean girl group Wonder Girls and left the group in January 2010 to pursue an academic career.

Pops in Seoul, airing since 1998, has presented Korean pop music for the past nine years as Arirang TV's most popular music program. The show’s VJ presents current music plus news about K-pop culture in the process supporting our domestic musicians' activities abroad and providing overseas viewers with the latest Korean pop music and information. The former host Daniel from DMTN who was caught up in a drug scandal dropped out as the MC on March 13, 2013 and was officially replaced by BTOB's Peniel. On August 18, 2013, Wonder Girls member Lim debuted as the show's newest host. On March 10, 2014, Lim officially stepped down from her MCing duties and was succeeded by five new hosts.

On June 24, 2015 it was announced that Wonder Girls would be making comeback after two-year hiatus, as a four-member band. [9] On the band's August 2015 release REBOOT , Woo contributed to the writing and production of three songs.

<i>Reboot</i> (Wonder Girls album) 2015 studio album by Wonder Girls

Reboot is the third and final studio album by South Korean girl group Wonder Girls. It was released on August 3, 2015 through JYP Entertainment. The Wonder Girls were more involved in the composition of this album, with each member having some writing and/or production credits on each song. This is the first album in years to feature member Sunmi and the first since the departure of members Sunye and Sohee.

Hyerim released a collaboration single with Bernard Park titled "With You" on April 3, 2016, as a part of JYP Entertainment's JYP Duet Match project. On July of the same year, Lim contributed to the composition of two songs on Wonder Girls' single EP Why So Lonely .

On January 26, 2017, it was announced that Wonder Girls were to disband after unsuccessful contract renewal negotiation with some of its members. Hyerim was one of the members who renewed her contract with JYP Entertainment. The group released their final single "Draw Me" on February 10; it also serves as a celebration for their 10th anniversary since debut. [10]

Kim Tae-woo is a South Korean singer, best known as the lead vocalist of boy band g.o.d. He debuted in 1999 as a member of g.o.d and continued as a solo artist after the group went on hiatus in 2006. In addition to his solo career, Kim has also sung the OSTs of award-winning popular dramas and performed in musicals.

"Tell Me" is a song performed by South Korean girl group, Wonder Girls from their debut album, The Wonder Years (2007). "Tell Me ", featuring Yubin's rap verse, was added as a B-side on their second maxi single, So Hot. Yubin is credited as the writer of the version. It went to number one on various charts and received number one position on KBS's music chart show Music Bank, staying at that position for seven consecutive weeks and received a triple crown at SBS Inkigayo.
