Zainal Arifin Paliwang (born 16 December 1962) is an Indonesian politician and the current governor of North Kalimantan. [3] His inauguration as governor in February 2021 was attended by very few people,all of whom required PCR tests,due to COVID-19 health and safety protocol. [2]
In mid-2021,Paliwang met with his counterpart,Isran Noor,to confirm details on the construction of a potential Berau-Bulungan toll road connecting North Kalimantan to East Kalimantan. [3]
On February 8,2022,his eldest son,Novandi Arya Kharizma,died in a car accident on Senen,Central Jakarta. [4]
East Kalimantan is a province of Indonesia. Its territory comprises the eastern portion of Borneo. Malay Indonesians are ethnic Malays living throughout Indonesia. They are one of the indigenous peoples of the country. Malinau Regency is a regency of North Kalimantan Province in Indonesia. It was created on 4 October 1999 from the western districts of Bulungan Regency. The administrative centre is the town of Malinau. The regency is home to the Kayan Mentarang National Park. It covers an area of 38,973.56 km2,and had a population of 62,423 at the 2010 Census and 82,510 at the 2020 Census;the official estimate as at mid 2022 was 85,316. It is the regency with the largest area in the province,as well as the least densely populated. Other than that,Malinau is the only regency in North Kalimantan that is predominantly Protestant and the second most-developed region in North Kalimantan after Tarakan in terms of Human Development Index.
Tana Tidung Regency is a regency within the Indonesian province of North Kalimantan. It is Indonesia's least populous regency,with 25,584 inhabitants recorded in the 2020 census;the official estimate as at mid 2022 was 27,571. Its regency seat is the town of Tideng Pale,in Sesayap District,where 11,280 of the regency's population lived in mid 2022.

Tanjung Priok Access Toll Road is a toll road that provides direct access to or from Tanjung Priok Port,which is part of Jakarta Outer Ring Road 2 road network in Jakarta,Indonesia. This 11.4 km highway is part of the Jabodetabek toll road network system connected to the Jakarta Outer Ring Road and Jakarta Inner Ring Road. The toll road was inaugurated on 15 April 2017.
A gubernatorial election was held across the province of North Kalimantan on 8 December 2015,to elect the province's governor for the 2016-2021 five-year term. There were two pairs contesting the election,and Irianto Lambrie who had previously taken a temporary post as the province's governor defeated former Tarakan mayor Jusuf Serang Kasim.
Nusantara,officially known as the Capital City of Nusantara,is the future capital of Indonesia,scheduled to be inaugurated on 17 August 2024,coinciding with Indonesian Independence Day. Nusantara will replace Jakarta as the national capital,a position the latter city has held since the country's independence in 1945.
