American singer Zendaya has released one studio album, 10 singles, three promotional singles, 15 music videos and some album appearances. Her first appearance was as part of Kidz Bop Kids on the album Kidz Bop Dance Party, [1] in 2010. In 2011, Zendaya released her debut independent single, "Swag It Out". Her next single, "Watch Me", peaked at number 86 on the US Billboard Hot 100.

On August 8, 2012, Zendaya signed to Hollywood Records and began writing songs for her debut album. [2] Her debut single, "Replay", was released on July 16, 2013, produced by Mick Schultz and written by Tiffany Fred and Paul "Phamous" Shelton. Her debut album, Zendaya , was released on September 17, 2013, and reached number 51 on the US Billboard 200. [3]

On March 6, 2015, Timbaland confirmed that he would be working with Zendaya on her second album. [4] Speaking on the album, Zendaya told MTV News that the music is a "new wave of R&B. It's where I think it should be going, or it should be headed; it's very old-school vibe, but it's a new age version." [5] In July 2015, Zendaya posted a snippet of a song produced by Timbaland on Instagram. Following this, she appeared on a radio station in Dubai and premiered a longer snippet of the song entitled "Close Up". On November 8, 2015, she posted another video of her lip-syncing to an R&B song which would be included on her then-upcoming album. [5] A promotional music video for the song was released by Hunger TV on November 12, 2015. [6] On January 1, 2016, it was reported that Zendaya's second album would be released in February,[ needs update ] and be preceded by the single "Something New", featuring Chris Brown; the single was released on February 5 via Hollywood Records and Republic Records. The song also marks it as her first official release since signing to Republic Records. [7]

The two artists co-wrote the song with Danja, The Clutch, and Candice Nelson. Timbaland also produced the song, along with Danja co-producing. Mosley Music Group, in association with Blackground Records, Spirit Halloween Entertainment and Interscope Records, serviced the song to contemporary hit and rhythmic radios in the United States on June 15, 2007. "The Way I Are" is an electrohop song with influences of R&B and dance music that help create its futuristic sound. Its lyrics are based on the theme of role reversal and sensuous desires.

The song was the biggest radio airplay hit in the history of the Mainstream Top 40 chart in the United States, with 10,394 plays in one week, until its record was broken by Leona Lewis's "Bleeding Love", which was also co-written by Tedder. <i>The Greatest Showman</i> (soundtrack) 2017 soundtrack album

The Greatest Showman: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is the soundtrack album to the film The Greatest Showman. It was released in full on December 8, 2017, by Atlantic Records. The album contains all of the film's musical numbers, but none of the film's underscore. The first pre-order release was on October 26, 2017, with two promotional singles: "The Greatest Show" and "This Is Me". A third, "Rewrite the Stars", followed on November 17, 2017. "This Is Me" was released on December 8, 2017, as the album's official lead single. In Australia, "Rewrite the Stars" was released to radio on July 20, 2018.

The song sees Efron's character, Phillip, serenading Zendaya's character, Anne, trying to convince her that they're meant to be together, despite their different races.
