Bandi Ramakrishna Reddy is an Indian linguist,known for his work on conservation of endangered languages including Kuvi,Manda,and Kui. He is a professor at Osmania University. [2] [1]
He was born in Rentalachenu. He completed his bachelor's and master's degrees from Sri Venkateswara University. [2] He subsequently joined the Deccan College and obtained a degree in linguistics. [3]
Between 1970 and 1972,he worked at the Central Institute of Indian Languages. In 1972,he was awarded the Commonwealth Scholarship,and proceeded to the University of Edinburgh for doctoral studies. During his doctorate,he was supervised by Ronald E. Asher. [3]
Between 1977 and 1990,he worked at the Department of Linguistics at Osmania University. Afterwards,he joined the Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University. [3] He was awarded the Padma Shri in 2023. [4]
In 1995,he co-authored the Kuvi-Oriya-English dictionary. [3]
He was married to Professor Nagamma Reddy.
Osmania University is a collegiate public state university located in Hyderabad,Telangana,India. She is the founder of Mamidipudi Venkatarangaiya Foundation,popularly known as MV Foundation,and is a professor in the Department of Political science in Hyderabad Central University. She headed the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights for two consecutive terms;The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) was set up in March 2007 under the Commission for Protection of Child Rights Act,2005,an Act of Parliament. Sinha was its first chairperson. She was awarded the civilian honour of Padma Shri by the Government of India in 1998.
Bhadriraju Krishnamurti was an Indian linguist,specialized in Dravidian languages. He was born in Ongole in Madras Presidency of British India,now currently in Andhra Pradesh,India. He was the vice-chancellor of University of Hyderabad from 1986 to 1993,and founded the Department of Linguistics at Osmania University,where he served as a professor from 1962 to 1986. His magnum opus,The Dravidian Languages,is considered a landmark volume in the study of Dravidian linguistics.
Ashok Ramchandra Kelkar (1929–2014) was a linguist and critical Marathi writer from Maharashtra,India. He was honoured with the Padma Shri in 2002 and Sahitya Akademi Award for Marathi in 2010.

Raja and Radha Reddy are an Indian Kuchipudi dancing couple,gurus and choreographers. They are renowned as exponents of the South Indian dance form of Kuchipudi. They founded and run the Natya Tarangini Institute of Kuchipudi Dance in New Delhi. The duo are credited with having given Kuchipudi a new dimension without compromising on its traditional virtues. For their services to the field of arts,the Government of India has conferred on them the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan awards.
Masud Husain Khan was an Indian linguist,the first Professor Emeritus in Social Sciences at Aligarh Muslim University and the fifth Vice-Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia,a Central University in New Delhi.
Chittoor Mohammed Habeebullah was an Indian gastroenterologist,known for his contributions to the medical discipline of gastroenterology in India. Born in 1937 in the South Indian state of Andhra Pradesh,Habeebullah graduated in medicine (MBBS) from the Guntur Medical College in 1958,after which he secured his master's degree in general medicine (MD) from Andhra University and DM from the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research,Chandigarh. He started his career as an assistant professor at the Department of Gastroenterology,Osmania Medical College and served as the professor and the Head of the Department from 1975 to 1992 and thereafter as the principal till 1994. He also served as the Director,Centre for Liver Research and Diagnostics,Deccan College of Medical Sciences,Hyderabad and as the Director of Medical Education,Government of Andhra Pradesh. He was a 1997 Fellow of The National Academy of Sciences,India and had many scientific publications to his credit. A recipient of the Khwarizmi International Award in 1997,Habeebullah was honored by the Government of India,in 2001,with the fourth highest Indian civilian award of Padma Shri. He died on 10 July 2010,falling to a cardiac arrest.
Vanaja Iyengar was an Indian mathematician,educationist and the founder vice-chancellor of Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam,Tirupati,in the south Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. She was one of the founders of the Andhra Mahila Sabha School of Informatics. The Government of India awarded her the fourth highest civilian honour of Padma Shri in 1987.
Mohan Kameswaran is an Indian otorhinolaryngologist,medical academic and the founder of MERF Institute of Speech and Hearing,a Chennai-based institution providing advanced training in audiology and speech-language pathology. He is one of the pioneers of cochlear implant surgery in India and a visiting professor at Rajah Muthiah Medical College of the Annamalai University and Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute,Chennai. He has many firsts to his credit such as the performance of the first auditory brain stem implantation surgery in South and South East Asia,the first pediatric brain stem implantation surgery in Asia,the first totally implantable hearing device surgery in Asia Pacific region,and the first to introduce KTP/532 laser-assisted ENT surgery in India. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri,in 2006,for his contributions to Indian medicine.
Anumolu Ramakrishna (1939–2013) was an Indian civil and structural engineer,corporate executive and the deputy managing director of Larsen &Toubro Construction,the largest construction company in India as per 2013 statistics. He was credited with the introduction of system formwork and precast and prestressed concrete technologies in Indian construction industry,procedures which helped increase productivity,and was a co-founder of the India chapter of FSL - Global Forum on Structural Longevity. The Government of India awarded him the third highest civilian honour of the Padma Bhushan,posthumously in 2014,for his contributions to science and technology.

His literary work was recognized by the Indian government and focused on medieval Sufism,the regional history of Bihar,and aspects of cultural history of medieval India. He authored,edited and translated more than 250 articles,research papers,forewords,prefaces,and book reviews,which have been awarded by the Indian government and published in multiple journals,books and proceedings.
Korada Mahadeva Sastri was an Indian linguist. His classic work Historical Grammar of Telugu was the first systematic study on the development of Telugu Language. It provides a survey of the historical development of the Telugu Language from the earliest times. This work helped decipher some Indus Valley seals. He was a founder member of the Dravidian Linguistics Association of India. He was awarded the 2011 C.P.Brown award and Sri Kalapurna award for his lifetime achievements.
Badaplin War is an Indian professor and a litterateur. In 2022,she was awarded the Padma Shri by the Indian Government for her contribution in literature and education.
Gaddam Padmaja Reddy is an Indian Kuchipudi exponent and music teacher. She performs ballets on mythological themes and contemporary social issues. She choreographed Kakatiyam,a Kuchipudi visual dance form. She was conferred with Kala Ratna in 2006,India's highest art award–Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 2015 and Padma Shri,India's fourth highest civilian award,in the field of art for 2022.
Jaibhagwan Goyal also known as Prof. J. B. Goyal is an Indian littérateur,academic,professor who is credited for discovering 17th to 19th century Hindi literary works in Gurumukhi manuscripts. He is notable for his contribution to Sikh literature He was former Professor in the Hindi Department and served as the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Languages,Kurukshetra University in Haryana.
