Mammen Mathew (born 20 September 1944) is present Chief Editor and Managing Director of Malayala Manorama . He is the eldest son of the late K. M. Mathew, who was the Chief Editor of Malayala Manorama until 1 August 2010. Mammen has more than 45 years of experience in the field of publication. [1]

Career

Mammen completed a BA and MA in Medieval Indian History St. Stephen's College in Delhi, and then worked as trainee in editing in The Times of India. Subsequently, he joined Malayala Manorama as its Delhi correspondent. In 1968, he became a reporter for the Western Mail (Wales) in Cardiff in the United Kingdom. He also worked at The Sunday Times in London, under Harold Evans. [2] Mammen joined the Oklahoma City Times, and later worked for The Daily Oklahoma as reporter in 1969. [3] In 2010, he succeeded his father, K. M. Mathew, as Chief Editor of Malayala Manorama. [2]

He also went into development of plantations, and was the inspiration behind the various enterprises of his sons.

Kandathil Mammen Philip is an Indian entrepreneur from the South Indian state Kerala and a director of MRF Limited and Malayala Manorama group with business interests in tea, coffee and cardamom plantations and processing. He is also a director of many other companies such as Rembrandt and Vandykes Limited, Commercial Broadcasts Limited, India Coffee and Tea distributing Company Limited and Balanoor Plantations and Industries limited. Born to K. C. Mammen Mappillai and Kunjandamma as the sixth of their nine children, Philip is considered by many as the father of Indian rubber industry. Philip was honored by the Government of India, in 2001, with the fourth highest Indian civilian award of Padma Shri. His eldest brother, Kandathil Mammen Cherian and one of his younger brothers, Kandathil Mammen Mathew are recipients of Padma Bhushan awards while another younger brother, K. M. Mammen Mappillai and one of his nephews, K. M. Mammen Mathew have won Padma Shri awards.

D. Vijayamohan (1955–2020) was an Indian journalist, writer and the senior coordinating editor at the Delhi bureau of the Malayala Manorama. Known for his journalistic coverage of the politics in New Delhi since 1985, he was a Harry Brittain fellow of the Commonwealth Press Union and a recipient of several honors including the Award for Developmental Journalism of the Government of Kerala, V. Karunakaran Nambiar Award of Kerala Press Academy and the Kerala Lalitha Kala Akademi Award.
