Missamma is a 1955 Indian Telugu-language romantic comedy film directed by L. V. Prasad. It was produced by Nagi Reddi and Chakrapani on Vijaya Productions banner. The film stars N. T. Rama Rao, Savitri, Akkineni Nageswara Rao and Jamuna. The script was adapted by Chakrapani from Rabindranath Maitra's Bengali play Manmoyee Girls School. It revolves around two unemployed people — M. T. Rao and Mary — who pose as a married couple to obtain employment in a high school founded by Gopalam, a zamindar. As Rao and Mary fall in love, Gopalam's nephew A. K. Raju learns that Mary is Gopalam's missing elder daughter Mahalakshmi; she is unaware of her true identity.

<i>Swayamvaram</i> (1972 film) 1972 Indian film

Swayamvaram is a 1972 Indian Malayalam-language drama film co-written and directed by Adoor Gopalakrishnan, starring Madhu and Sharada in the lead roles. Notable smaller roles were played by Thikkurisi Sukumaran Nair, Adoor Bhavani, K. P. A. C. Lalitha, and Bharath Gopi. The film depicts the life of a couple—Vishwam (Madhu) and Sita (Sharada)—who have married against their parents' wishes and want to start a new life at a new place. The title is an allusion to the ancient Indian practice of a girl of marriageable age choosing a husband from among a list of suitors.

<i>Gejje Pooje</i> 1969 Indian Kannada film

Gejje Pooje is a 1969 Indian Kannada-language film directed by Puttanna Kanagal and produced by Rashi Brothers. The film stars Kalpana, Gangadhar and Leelavathi. Actress Aarathi made her first screen appearance in this film. It is based on the novel of the same name by M. K. Indira. The film was remade in Tamil as Thaaliya Salangaiya, in Telugu as Kalyana Mandapam, and in Hindi as Ahista Ahista.

Sivagangai Seemai is a 1959 Indian Tamil-language historical drama film directed by K. Shankar and written by Kannadasan. Based on the life of the Maruthu Pandiyars, the film stars S. S. Rajendran, S. Varalakshmi, Kamala Lakshmanan and M. N. Rajam. It was released on 19 May 1959.

Maang Bharo Sajana is a 1980 Indian Hindi-language drama film, produced by A. Purnachandra Rao under the Lakshmi Productions banner, and directed by T. Rama Rao. The film stars Jeetendra, Rekha, Moushumi Chatterjee, Kajal Kiran and music composed by Laxmikant–Pyarelal. The film is a remake of the Telugu film Karthika Deepam (1979). This was one of the four films T. Rama Rao directed with Jeetendra and Rekha that explored married relationships. The film did well commercially. Rekha was applauded for her performance as the other woman.

Bama Vijayam is a 1967 Indian Tamil-language comedy film directed by K. Balachander. The film features an ensemble cast including Sowcar Janaki, Rajasree, Kanchana, Jayanthi, Sachu, R. Muthuraman, Nagesh, Major Sundarrajan, Srikanth and T. S. Balaiah. It revolves around a man's three daughters-in-law who go to absurd lengths to impress an actress who becomes their neighbour.

Thene Manasulu is a 1965 Indian Telugu-language romance film directed by Adurthi Subba Rao and written by Mullapudi Venkata Ramana. The film stars Krishna, Ram Mohan, Sandhya Rani and Sukanya. It revolves around a young girl (Sukanya) who falls in love with a man (Krishna), not realising that he is the same man her marriage was initially fixed with. Thene Manasulu is based on K. R. K. Mohan's novel Vakrinchina Sarala Rekhalu. It was the film where first major role given to actor Krishna Ghattamaneni and also the acting debut for Rammohan, Sandhya Rani and Sukanya. The film was produced by C. Sundaram under Babu Movies, photographed by P. S. Selvaraj, and edited by T. Krishna. It was the first Telugu social film to be shot completely in colour. Thene Manasulu was released on 31 March 1965 and became a commercial success. It was remade in Hindi as Doli (1969).

<i>Bandhan</i> (1969 film) 1969 Indian film

Bandhan is a 1969 Hindi film directed by Narendra Bedi, starring Rajesh Khanna and Mumtaz. It was Bedi's directorial debut and the second movie with Khanna and Mumtaz together in the lead roles. The film grossed 2.80 crore at the box office in 1969–70. Khanna's songs were performed by the playback singer Mahendra Kapoor. This film is counted among the 17 consecutive hit films of Rajesh Khanna between 1969 and 1971, by adding the two-hero films Marayada and Andaz to the 15 solo hits he starred in over these three years.

Uttar Falguni is a 1963 Indian Bengali-language drama film directed by Asit Sen and produced by Uttam Kumar, starring Suchitra Sen in a double role, Bikash Roy and Dilip Mukherjee in lead. At the 11th National Film Awards, the film was awarded the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Bengali. Music of the film composed by Robin Chatterjee. The film was remade by director Asit Sen himself in Hindi, as Mamta (1966) again with Suchitra Sen as the lead. The film was also remade in Tamil as Kaviya Thalaivi (1970), and in Malayalam as Pushpanjali (1972).

He is considered one of the most influential personalities in the history of South Indian cinema.

Shri Ram Bhakta Hanuman is a 1948 Hindi religious film produced and directed by Homi Wadia for Basant Pictures. The story was adapted from Valmiki's Ramayana by Shivram Vashikar and the dialogues were written by P. C. Joshi. S. N. Tripathi not only provided music for the film but acted the main role of Hanuman. The film starred Trilok Kapoor, S. N. Tripathi, Sona Chatterjee, Niranjan Sharma and Prabhash Joshi.

Chhoti Bahoo [English: Youngest Daughter-in-law] is a 1994 Hindi family drama film directed by M. M. Baig. The film stars Deepak Tijori and Shilpa Shirodkar in the lead roles. The film was a remake of Bengali film Choto Bou.

Ram Rajya is an Indian 1967 Hindi religious film based on Valmiki's Ramayana and directed by Vijay Bhatt. The film was produced by Shankarbhai Bhatt. The music director was Vasant Desai with lyrics written by Bharat Vyas. The cinematographer was Pravin Bhatt and the film starred Bina Rai, Kumar Sen, Badri Prasad, Kanhaiyalal, Farida dadi, Anil Kumar, Jay Vijay.

Paadhai Theriyudhu Paar is a 1960 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by Nemai Ghosh. The film stars K. Vijayan and S. V. Subbaiah. It won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil along with Kalathur Kannamma.
