Tanuja Samarth, known mononymously as Tanuja, is an Indian actress who predominantly works in the Hindi film industry. Part of the Mukherjee-Samarth family, she is the daughter of actress Shobhna Samarth and producer Kumarsen Samarth, and was married to filmmaker Shomu Mukherjee, with whom she has two daughters, actresses Kajol and Tanisha. A recipient of two Filmfare Awards, Tanuja is best known for her roles in the Hindi and Bengali films like Memdidi (1961), Deya Neya (1963), Chand Aur Suraj (1965), Baharen Phir Bhi Aayengi (1966), Jewel Thief (1967), Nai Roshni (1967), Antony Firingee (film) (1967), Pratham Kadam Phool (1969), Teen Bhubaner Pare (1969), Jeene Ki Raah (1969), Rajkumari (1970), Haathi Mere Saathi (1971), Anubhav (1971), Mere Jeevan Saathi (1972) and Do Chor (1972). Her pairings with actors Sanjeev Kumar, Rajesh Khanna, Dharmendra and Uttam Kumar were popular in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

She also sang some Konkani songs broadcast over the Mumbai station of the All India Radio.

Geeta is a Bollywood film directed by Parshwanath Yeshwant Altekar and starring Chandra Mohan, Durga Khote and Anant Marathe. It was released in 1940. The film produced under the Circo Productions banner was a bilingual made in Hindi and Marathi. The story was written by Minoo Katrak who in later films was to become a renowned sound recordist. The cinematographer was Gordhanbhai Patel and the film's music was composed by Datta Koregaonkar. It's dialogues and song lyrics were by S. K. Kallah with screenplay by Altekar. The rest of the cast included Trilok Kapoor, Ashalata, Vatsala Kumtekar and Baby Suman.
Vani Rani is a 1974 Indian Tamil-language film, directed initially by Tapi Chanakya and finished by C. V. Rajendran. Produced by Nagi Reddi and Chakrapani. The film stars Sivaji Ganesan, Vanisri and R. Muthuraman. It is a remake of the Hindi film Seeta Aur Geeta. The film was released on 14 April 1974, delayed by two days.

The movie is biopic on the life of legendary actor Bhagwan Abaji Palav popularly known as Bhagwan Dada The film released on 24 June 2016 and will be the first ever Marathi film simultaneously released in India and UK. It will also be released globally.
Vanamala or Vanmala Devi (1915-2007) was an Indian actress, appearing in many films in Hindi and Marathi. She is best known for the role of the mother in the Marathi movie Shyamchi Aai, which won the Golden Lotus Award (Swarna Kamal) for Best Film at the 1st National Film Awards in 1954.
