Manikonda is a commercial hub and a residential neighbourhood in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. This suburb has boomed in recent years due to the presence of leading software company headquarters in the area as well as Lanco hills, a luxury hi-rise residential project, and an upcoming Chitrapuri Colony residential layout for Telugu cinema workers. Development

Manikonda is the site of significant commercial and residential development. The area is sought after for its posh locale. Several software professionals who work at Gachibowli and Hi-tech City are purchasing flats and land in Manikonda. In February 2022, a two-member bench of Supreme Court of India passed judgement that Manikonda village jagir comprising prime land of 1,654-acre (6.69 km2) and 32 guntas of land belongs to Government of Telangana, setting aside the orders of the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh High Court. [12] The land is free from any encumbrance.

The area's infrastructure, shopping and entertainment are rapidly growing. The highways leading to Manikonda include one from Darga via OU Colony and another from Sheikpet via Sports complex and filter beds. It consists of two revenue villages named Manikonda and Puppalaguda. Several dozen towers of the multi-billion dollar Lanco hills as well as Chitrapuri Colony are located in Manikonda village. To reach this bustling locale from the airport, one should exit from Outer Ring Road at Nanakramguda/Gachibowli junction and take Lanco Hills Road. DivyaSree TechRidge is a 45-acre (0.18 km2) project near Lanco Hills. [13] Several companies likes Accenture are located in this. There are many parks in Manikonda Municipality like Netaji Park located in Alkaoor Township, Puppalguda. One of the best gyms around Manikonda that has come up is Hyki gym in Green Living Apartments.

Transport

The closest Metro Train station is Raidurg metro station. Outer Ring Road -Lanco Hills link road is under construction as part of Corridor 39B. [14] [15] [16] [17] This 3.89 km long link road is constructed alongside the Khajaguda Heritage Rock Formation. [18]

It is well connected by TSRTC buses that run from Mehdipatnam to Manikonda Marri Chettu Junction, and Lanco Hills, bus no. Bus 47L. runs from [secundrabad].

It's easily accessible to tourist attractions such as Khajaguda Historic Rock Formation next to Lanco Hills, Golkonda, Qutb Shahi tombs, Osman Sagar lake near Gandipet, Outer Ring Road, Hyderabad, Gachibowli Athletic Stadium, Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, and HITEC City.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Lakes in Hyderabad</span>

Once upon a time, Hyderabad was known as City of Lakes. Some of these lakes are natural and various are manmade bodies. As per various sources only a few decades back, Hyderabad had a large number of water bodies such as lakes, reservoirs, rivers, streams, aquaculture ponds, tanks etc.. Most of these lakes have totally disappeared and the surface area of most of the surviving lakes have shrunken and turned to tiny ponds and cesspool. Some of the lakes which have totally disappeared are Tigal Kunta, Somajiguda Tank, Mir Jumla tank, Pahar Tigal Kunta, Kunta Bhawani Das, Nawab Saheb Kunta, Afzalsagar, Nallakunta, Masab Tank etc. Hussainsagar Lake, Kunta Mallaiyapalli have shrunk drastically. Out of thousands of water bodies those were existing in 1970s in various sizes in and around Hyderabad, today only about 70 to 500 of them have survived. Most of them have disappeared due to encroachment or have been illegally drained for real estate projects by private or government agencies. The existing lakes have been used to dump garbage and sewage water. Most of these lakes and tanks were built during the regime of Qutub Shah in 16th and 17th century and later by Nizams as a source of drinking water for the residents of Hyderabad. The area of Hussain Sagar, which is the largest lake in Hyderabad shrunk by more than 40% i.e. from 550 ha to 349 ha in just 30 years. This lake was built in 1575 AD and since 1930 is not being used as a source for drinking water.

Durgam Cheruvu, also known as Raidurgam Cheruvu, is a freshwater lake located in Rangareddy district, Jagathgiri Gutta Telangana, India. The lake, which is spread over 83 acres (34 ha), is located near the city of Hyderabad. The lake is also known as Secret Lake because it is hidden between the localities of Jubilee Hills and Madhapur. The Durgam Cheruvu Bridge, which traverses the lake, was inaugurated in September 2020.

Kondapur is a suburb in western part of Hyderabad, Telangana, India. It falls under Serilingampally mandal of Ranga Reddy district. The locality has emerged as a prominent commercial and residential hub, owing to its close proximity to IT corridor of Hyderabad. It is administered as Ward No. 104 of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.

Kokapet is an emerging commercial and residential hub in Ranga Reddy District in Telangana, India. This place falls under Kokapet SEZ (Neopolis) and is as one of the most expensive commercial and residential locations in the western part of Hyderabad. It falls under Gandipet Mandal. It is three kilometres away from Gandipet and close to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport; it is almost an extension of Financial District and in the vicinity of the IT hub. High rise towers will come up at Neopolis Kokapet. Hyderabad-based My Home Group is firming up plans for a 30-35 million sq feet project at a cost of around $2 billion at Kokapet to build one of the largest private IT parks in India. My Home Constructions Pvt Ltd is developing it as a premium business district on the lines of Gurugram’s Cyber Hub that was developed by DLF. The commercial project being developed on 80-acre plot, will comprise a combination of SEZ and non-SEZ development along with MICE tourism, star hotel, retail and entertainment facilities. The layout development is proposed with seamless connectivity to the Outer Ring Road by construction of Trumpet Interchange at Kokapet layout and additional entry and exit to the ORR at Narsingi. OKOS Gokarting is also located in Kokapet. A Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) is being planned in Kokapet area. The earlier proposed elevated bus rapid transit system (EBRTS) project, also known as Metro Neo from Kukatpally Housing Board (KPHB) to Narsingi covering the IT corridor like Kokapet has been put in cold storage by Government of Telangana.

Nagaram is a formally known as Naagavaram Suburb of Hyderabad and a municipality in Telangana, India. And it also the largest Revenue Village falls under Keesara mandal of Medchal-Malkajgiri district. Due to its proximity to ECIL Company, Secunderabad and Eastern IT/SEZ of Hyderabad Pocharam, it is emerging as a major residential location in Hyderabad.

Bandlaguda Jagir is a satellite city of Hyderabad and a municipal corporation in Rangareddy district, Telangana, India. It Falls Under Gandipet mandal of Rajendranagar revenue division. It recently upgraded to a municipal corporation.

Khajaguda is a major commercial and residential area in Hyderabad, Telangana, in the suburb of Gachibowli. It is in the vicinity of Financial district, Gachibowli and HITEC City. Several residential apartments like ASBL Lakeside, IT HEIGHTS, Niharika Interlake, Niharika Lakefront are situated in Khajaguda.
