Louisiana Community and Technical College System

The Louisiana Community and Technical College System (LCTCS) manages thirteen public 2-year institutions in the state of Louisiana. [1] It is headquartered in Baton Rouge, and is located on the campus of Baton Rouge Community College. The chair of the Board of Supervisors is Vincent St. Blanc III, and the President is Dr. Joe D. May.

Baton Rouge Community College is a public community college in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Established on June 28, 1995, the college settled into a permanent location in 1998. The 60-acre (240,000 m2) campus consists of six main buildings: Governors Building, Louisiana Building, Cypress Building, Bienvenue Student Center, the Magnolia Library and Performing Arts Pavilion, and the Bonne Santé Wellness Center. The college's current enrollment is more than 7,000 students.

Gary Chambers Jr. is an American civil rights activist and perennial candidate from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. A progressive member of the Democratic Party, Chambers ran unsuccessfully in the 2022 United States Senate election in Louisiana, the 2021 Louisiana's 2nd congressional district special election, and, in 2019, for Louisiana's 15th State Senate district.

William P. "Buckskin Bill" Black was a Louisiana children's television personality and, later, school board member. He hosted what at the time were the longest-running children's television programs in the United States, Storyland and The Buckskin Bill Show, on Baton Rouge's WAFB-TV. Black famously helped raise funds to get the Baton Rouge Zoo built after promoting the cause on his show in the late 1950s and through the 1960s. After his successful television career, he was elected to the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board in 1994 and served for 16 years.
