The Hong Kong national football team represents Hong Kong in international football and is controlled by the Football Association of Hong Kong, China, the governing body for football in Hong Kong.
The Chinese Taipei national football team represents Taiwan in international football and is controlled by the Chinese Taipei Football Association. Despite never qualifying for the FIFA World Cup, Chinese Taipei, then known as Republic of China, reached the semi-finals of the 1960 and 1968 AFC Asian Cups, finishing third in the former. The side also won gold at the 1954 and 1958 Asian Games, although the players in the team originated from British Hong Kong.
Hong Kong Stadium is the main sports venue of Hong Kong. Redeveloped from the old Government Stadium, it reopened as Hong Kong Stadium in March 1994. It has a maximum seating capacity of 40,000, including 18,260 at the main level, 3,173 at executive level, 18,510 upper-level seats and 57 seats for wheelchair users.

The Burma Athletic Association Ground was a cricket ground in Rangoon, Burma. It was built as an athletic ground in 1906, which was completed in 1909, where many sports were held such as cricket, football and tennis. The first and only recorded match on the ground came in 1927 when Burma played its only first-class match against the touring Marylebone Cricket Club. The match ended in a heavy defeat for Burma. Cricket in Burma was a mainly British affair, with the game played by British officials. With Burmese independence in 1948, cricket became largely extinct in the country, and The BAA Ground was renovated and renamed as Bogyoke Aung San Stadium in 1953.
The 2013 AFC U-22 Championship qualification was the qualification tournament for the inaugural edition of the AFC U-22 Asian Cup. The qualifiers took place from 23 June to 3 July 2012, but were later changed to 2–10 June for Group D, due to Nepal's request. The matches were later rescheduled to start on 16 June and 3 July for Indonesia.
Maha Thiri Thudhamma Khin Kyi was a Burmese politician and diplomat, best known for her marriage to the country's leader, Aung San, with whom she had four children, including Aung San Suu Kyi. She served as the Minister of Social Welfare and MP of the Pyithu Hluttaw for Lanmadaw Township.

The 2015 General Aung San Shield Final was the 5th final of the MFF Cup. Ayeyawady United won the match 2-1 with goals from Riste Naumov and Kyaw Min Oo, for their third title. Moukailou scored for Yadanarbon FC. Ayeyawady qualified to AFC Cup competition with its win. The match was played at Bogyoke Aung San Stadium in Yangon. on 27 September 2015 and was the final match of the Bogyoke Aung San Cup.
The 2016 AFF Women's Championship was the ninth edition of the AFF Women's Championship, an international women's football tournament organised by the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF). The tournament was held in Mandalay, Myanmar between 26 July to 4 August 2016.

The 1953 Colombo Cup was the second edition of the Colombo Cup held in Rangoon, Burma. India won the cup for a second time by winning all thee matches. It was India's first outright win in an international football tournament played abroad. The team received the rolling Colombo Cup and a Special Burma Cup for permanent retention.
