The 1996 Indian Federation Cup Final was the 19th final of the Indian Federation Cup, the top knock-out competition in India, and was contested between Kolkata giant East Bengal and Dempo of Goa on 11 August 1996.

East Bengal won the final 21 courtesy of a Golden goal by Raman Vijayan in the extra-time to claim their fourth Federation Cup title. [2]

East Bengal entered the 1996 Indian Federation Cup as the runner's up of the tournament's previous edition. In the pre-quarter-final, they faced Air India in their opening match and won 21. In the quarter-final, East Bengal faced Border Security Force and in a thriller of a game, won 43 in the penalty shootout after the game ended 11 after 120 minutes. Raman Vijayan scored the only goal for East Bengal. In the semi-final, East Bengal faced Kerala Police and won the match handsomely by 30 with a brace from Vijayan as they reached the final. [2] [3]

In the pre-quarter-finals, Dempo faced Delhi Mughals and won it 40. In the quarter-final, they faced Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan and after 120 minutes the game ended 00 and Dempo won 53 via penalty shootout to reach the last four of the tournament. In the Semi-final, they faced the reigning champions JCT Mills; defeated them 31 to reach the final. [2]

The 1998 Indian Federation Cup, also known as 1998 Kalyani Black Label Federation Cup due to sponsorship reasons, was the 21st season of the Indian Federation Cup. It was held between 23 August and 12 September 1998. Salgaocar were the defending champions, but were eliminated in the first round by State Bank of Travancore. Mohun Bagan won the tournament for the tenth time, following a 2–1 over East Bengal in the final played at the Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata, a replay of the previous edition's semifinal when the latter won. The 2018 Santosh Trophy Final was a match between Kerala and West Bengal, played on 1 April 2018, at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata, West Bengal. East Bengal Football Club is an Indian association football club based in Kolkata, West Bengal, which competes in the top tier of Indian football. The club was formed when the vice-president of Jorabagan, Suresh Chandra Chaudhuri, resigned when Jorabagan sent out their starting eleven but with the notable exclusion of defender Sailesh Bose who was dropped from the squad for reasons not disclosed when they were about to face Mohun Bagan in the Coochbehar Cup Semi-Final on 28 July 1920. He along with Raja Manmatha Nath Chaudhuri, Ramesh Chandra Sen, and Aurobinda Ghosh, formed East Bengal, in Jorabagan home of Suresh Chandra on 1 August 1920; 99 years ago. East Bengal started playing in the Calcutta Football League 2nd division from 1921 and in 1925 they qualified for the first division for the first time and since then they have won numerous titles in Indian Football.

The 2019–20 season was the club's 100th season in existence. East Bengal FC formed in 1920, played its centenary season, competing in the I-League, Durand Cup and Calcutta Football League.

The 2019 Durand Cup was the 129th edition of the Durand Cup, oldest football tournament in Asia, since the tournament's founding in 1888. 16 teams competed in the tournament. The matches were played across three locations in West Bengal, namely Kolkata, Howrah and Kalyani from 2 August 2019. The final took place at the Salt Lake Stadium on 24 August 2019.
