The FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2008 was the 19th staging of the FIBA Asia Champions Cup, the basketball club tournament of FIBA Asia. The tournament was held in Kuwait City, Kuwait between May 8, 2008 and May 19. The tournament was scheduled to end on May 16 but the schedule changed due to the death of the former Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salim Al-Sabah. The committee decided to call off the play-off matches to decide the 5–10 positions.
The FIBA Asia Champions Cup, previously known as the Asian Basketball Confederation (ABC) Champions Cup until 2002, is the Asian club championship for professional basketball. It is organised by FIBA Asia, and takes place once a year.

Nnadubem Gabriel Enyinaya Muoneke is a Nigerian American professional basketball player. Despite being born in the United States, Muoneke represents Nigeria internationally.
The Kuwait national football team is the national team of Kuwait and is controlled by the Kuwait Football Association. Kuwait made one World Cup finals appearance, in 1982, managing one point in the group stages. In the Asian Cup, Kuwait reached the final in 1976 and won the tournament in 1980.
Fadi El Khatib, born December 18, 1979, nicknamed as the "Lebanese Tiger", is a Lebanese professional basketball player for Champville SC in the Lebanese Basketball League. He is regarded as one of the best in Asia and by many pundits of the new era named as the greatest one. He was also a main member of the Lebanon national basketball team that participated in the 2002 FIBA World Championship in Indianapolis in the United States, in the 2006 FIBA World Championship which took place in Japan, and in the 2010 FIBA World Championship held in Turkey.
Al-Ettifaq Football Club is a Saudi Arabian professional football club based in Dammam. 'Ittifaq' is Arabic for agreement. Al Ettifaq was established after the merging of three clubs in the city of Dammam at the year 1944. Al Ettifaq is the first Saudi team to win an international title – the 1984 Arab Club Champions Cup. Al Ettifaq is also the first team to win the Saudi Premier League without any defeat. Kazma Sporting Club is a Kuwaiti football club founded in 1964. Kazma play in Al-Sadaqua Walsalam Stadium in Adiliya, Al Asimah Governorate (Kuwait), Kuwait City and is the 3rd largest stadium in Kuwait. They have won the Kuwaiti Premier League 4 times. Kazma faced FC Barcelona at the end of the 2009–10 season, drawing 1–1 after Bojan Krkić scored in the 80th minute for Barcelona, before Abdullah Al Dhafiri equalised in the 90th minute with a fine effort for Kazma. On 19 April 2013 Kazma SC were relegated for the first time in their history after losing to Al-Arabi SC 3–0 in the final game of the 2012–13.

The tournament was held in 15–25 September 2011 at Wuhan, Hubei, China. Lebanon was the original host for the event. Team China won the tournament, defeating Jordan 70–69 in the final. It was the first time in the history of FIBA Asia Championship that the title was won by just one single point.

The 2014 FIBA Asia Champions Cup will be the 25th staging of the FIBA Asia Champions Cup, the international basketball club tournament of FIBA Asia. The tournament was supposed to be held in Kuwait on June 5–13, 2014, but FIBA Asia, through a communique to the National Federations representing the qualified teams, had announced that the tournament will be rescheduled after the 2014 FIBA Asia Under-18 Championship for Women sometime in the third-fourth week of October, after they mentioned that they require their top players to be available for the National Team’s preparations for the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup and the 2014 Asian Games.

The 2016 FIBA Asia Champions Cup was the 25th staging of the FIBA Asia Champions Cup, the international basketball club tournament of FIBA Asia. The tournament took place in Chenzhou, China from 8 October to 16 October, 2016. The venue of the tournament was Chenzhou Olympic Sports Centre Gymnasium. This was the return of the tournament after a two-year hiatus since the 2013 edition.
The 2017 FIBA Asia Champions Cup was the 26th staging of the FIBA Asia Champions Cup, the international basketball club tournament of FIBA Asia. The tournament took place in Chenzhou, China from 22 September to 30 September 2017. This was the second straight year that China hosted the tournament.
The 2018 FIBA Asia Champions Cup was the 27th staging of the FIBA Asia Champions Cup, the international basketball club tournament of FIBA Asia. The tournament, which was originally scheduled to be hosted by China, took place in Thailand from 27 September to 2 October 2018. Games were played at Stadium29 in Nonthaburi.
Qualification for the 2018 FIBA Asia Champions Cup started in 2017 and will end in 2018.
