The ABC Champions Cup 1997 was the 8th staging of the ABC Champions Cup, the basketball club tournament of Asian Basketball Confederation. The tournament was held in Jakarta, Indonesia between July 18 and July 25, 1997.

The FIBA Asia Champions Cup, previously known as the Asian Basketball Confederation (ABC) Champions Cup until 2002, is the Asian club championship for professional basketball. It is organised by FIBA Asia, and takes place once a year.

Hekmeh BC

Hekmeh or Al-Hikma or Club Sagesse is a Lebanese sports club based in Beirut. The basketball team was established in 1992, as part of the historic Hekmeh club established in 1943 with mainly the football (soccer) team. The basketball team became far more popular than the initial football team thus making the basketball branch the most popular branch of the club, due to its phenomenal record breaking success since its formation in the early nineties in the newly reformed Lebanese league, the Arab and the FIBA Asia championships.
