The Rajamangala National Stadium is the national stadium of Thailand. It is part of the Hua Mak Sports Complex, and is located in Hua Mak Subdistrict, Bang Kapi, Bangkok. It officially opened on 6 December 1998 during the 1998 Asian Games opening.
The 1988 AFC U-16 Championship was the 3rd edition of the AFC U-16 Championship, organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). It was played by Asian under-16 teams and also served as a qualification tournament for the 1989 FIFA U-16 World Championship to be held at Scotland. Saudi Arabia won the tournament by winning 2–0 in the final against Bahrain; both teams qualified to the 1989 FIFA U-16 World Championship, along with third-placed China.

The 2014 AFC U-16 Championship was the 16th edition of the biennial international youth football tournament organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for players aged 16 and below. The 2018 AFC Women's Futsal Championship was the second edition of the AFC Women's Futsal Championship, the biennial international futsal championship organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for the women's national teams of Asia. It took place in Thailand, which was appointed as hosts by the AFC on 29 July 2017, between 2 and 12 May 2018. The tournament was originally to be held between 15–26 August 2017, two years after the inaugural edition in 2015, but was postponed to the following year.

The 2023 Asian Athletics Championships is the 25 th edition of the Asian Athletics Championships. It was held from 12 to 16 July 2023 in Bangkok, Thailand. It is the first time that Thailand hosted this event since 1973. Held at the Supachalasai National Stadium in Bangkok, it also serves as a qualification stage for athletes to participate at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary. The previous edition that should have been held in Hangzhou, China, in May 2021 was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
