2019 Aphrodite Women Cup |
The Aphrodite Women Cup is a global invitational tournament for national teams in women's association football. It has been held annually in Cyprus since 2015. As the competition takes place in Cyprus, the hosts won the competition for the first time in 2019.
It is played at the same time as the Algarve Cup, the Cyprus Women's Cup, the SheBelieves Cup and the Turkish Women's Cup.
The Aphrodite Women Cup uses the following two-phase format:
The first phase is a group stage in which the twelve invited teams are divided into three groups of four teams. Similar to the Algarve Cup, the teams in Group A and Group B consist of higher-ranked teams and are the only teams actually in contention for the championship; Group C consists of lower-ranked teams. Each group plays a round-robin of six games, with each team playing one match against each of the other teams in the same group.
The second phase is a single "finals day" in which six games involving all twelve teams are played to determine the tournament's final standings, with the match-ups as follows:

Athletic Club Omonia Nicosia, commonly known as Omonia Nicosia, or simply Omonia, is a Cypriot professional multi-sport club, established on 4 June 1948 in Nicosia. It is best known for its football department, which has played in the Cypriot First Division since 1953. On 14 June 2018, the football department of AC Omonia became a professional for-profit football company, and is since known as Omonia FC.
APOEL is a major Cypriot multi-sport club based in Nicosia.
AEK Larnaca FC is a Cypriot professional football club based in Larnaca. The club was formed in 1994 after a merger of two historical Larnaca clubs, EPA Larnaca and Pezoporikos. The club also has a men's basketball team, a women's volleyball team and a men's futsal team.

Alki Oroklini is a Cypriot football club based in Oroklini. The team was founded as Omonia Oroklinis in 1979. Omonia had one participation in the Fourth Division. In 2014 the team changed their name to Alki Oroklini, when business man Andy Loppas, who became the president of the team, renamed it to Alki as his favorite team was Alki Larnaca FC which was dissolved that year, due to financial problems. Alki managed the outstanding 3 promotions in 3 years from the fourth division to Cypriot first division, the highest tier in Cyprus. They withdrew from the Cypriot Second Division during the 2022–23 season.
AEK Arena – Georgios Karapatakis is a football stadium in Larnaca, Cyprus. Completed in 2016, it is the home ground of AEK Larnaca and has a total seating capacity of 8,058. Since 2021, it also hosts the home games of the Cyprus national team.
