Following the proclamation of the Republic, Turkish museums developed considerably, mainly due to the importance Atatürk had attached to the research and exhibition of artifacts of Anatolia. The 2009–10 Fenerbahçe S.K. season was the club's 102nd season in its history and its 52nd consecutive year in the Süper Lig since its establishment. The season covered a period from July 2009 to June 2010. 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup

The 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup was the nineteenth edition of the FIFA U-20 World Cup, since its inception in 1977 as the FIFA World Youth Championship. It ran from 21 June to 13 July 2013. At the FIFA Executive Meeting in Zürich on 3 March 2011, Turkey beat other bids to host the series games, from host competition by the United Arab Emirates and Uzbekistan. In its bid, Turkey suggested the use of 13 stadiums in 10 of its cities, before deciding in February 2012, that seven cities would play host to games.

The 1986 FIFA World Cup qualification UEFA Group 3 was a UEFA qualifying group for the 1986 FIFA World Cup. The group comprised England, Finland, Northern Ireland, Romania and Turkey.

İzmir is a transportation hub for western Anatolia. İzmir has an extensive bus system, a developing metro and commuter rail system and a large urban ferry network. The start date of the league was 25 August 2012 and end date is 12 May 2013.

The 1951 Turkish Football Championship was the 16th and last edition of the competition. It was held in May. Beşiktaş won their fifth national championship title by winning the Final Group in Balıkesir.

The 1950 Turkish Football Championship was the 15th edition of the competition. It was held in June. Göztepe won their first and only national championship title by winning the Final Group in İzmir.
