The 2010 FIFA World Cup qualification UEFA Group 3 was a UEFA qualifying group for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The group comprised the Czech Republic, Poland, Northern Ireland, Slovakia, Slovenia and San Marino.
The group was won by Slovakia, who qualified for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The runners-up Slovenia entered the UEFA play-off stage. [1]

The match schedule was determined at a meeting in Bratislava, Slovakia on 16 January 2008. [2] The August 2009 date in the international match calendar was moved forward by one week, from 19 August to 12 August 2009, at the FIFA Executive Committee meeting on 27 May 2008. [3]

The 2007 UEFA Intertoto Cup was the 19th and penultimate edition of the competition and took 50 entries. Three rounds were held, and 11 teams qualified for the second qualifying round of the UEFA Cup. The draw took place at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland on 23 April 2007. The overall champion was Hamburg after they progressed further than the other Intertoto sides in the UEFA Cup.
The five teams in this group played against each other on a home-and-away basis. The group winner Croatia qualified for the 17th FIFA World Cup held in South Korea and Japan. The runner-up Belgium advanced to the UEFA Play-off and played against the Czech Republic. The group had seen a very close three-way battle between Croatia, Scotland and Belgium, with several draws between the top three sides: ultimately it was only decided towards the end when Belgium's defeat of Scotland put paid to all but the mathematical goal-difference chances of the Scots, and left Belgium in first place in the group, only to be defeated by Croatia in the final match, with Croatia thus overtaking them for first place in the group and finishing unbeaten.
