The Boys Doubles tournament of the 2012 BWF World Junior Championships was held from October 30 until November 3. Nelson Heg Wei Keat and Teo Ee Yi from Malaysia were the winner of the last edition.
This edition, the title won by Hong Kong pair Lee Chun Hei and Ng Ka Long after beating Japanese pair Takuto Inoue and Yuki Kaneko 21-16, 21-17 in the final. This was the first title ever for Hong Kong.

The 2011 BWF World Junior Championships is the thirteenth tournament of the BWF World Junior Championships. This tournament was held in Taoyuan, Taiwan at Taoyuan Arena from October 28 to November 6, 2011.
The Boys Doubles tournament of the 2013 BWF World Junior Championships was held from October 29 until November 3. Last year tournament won by Hong Kong pair Lee Chun Hei and Ng Ka Long.
The 2014 Korea Grand Prix was the sixteenth badminton tournament of the 2014 BWF Grand Prix Gold and Grand Prix. The tournament was held in Jeonju Indoor Badminton Court, Jeonju, South Korea from 4 until 9 November 2014 and had a total purse of $50,000. This tournament hosted by the Badminton Korea Association, and organized by Jeonbuk National Badminton Association, with the sanctioned from the BWF. The sponsor of this tournament was the Jeollabuk-do, Jeonju city; Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Korea Sports Council; and the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation. At the end of the tournament, the host country won four from five titles, and also made a record to win the three consecutive doubles events for the eighth consecutive time. The women's singles title goes to Japanese player.
The 2014 New Zealand Open Grand Prix officially SkyCity New Zealand Open 2014 was a badminton tournament which took place at the North Shore Events Centre, Auckland, New Zealand from 15 until 19 April 2014 and had a total purse of $50,000.
The Boys' Doubles tournament of the 2012 Asian Junior Badminton Championships was held from July 3–7 in Gimcheon, South Korea. The defending champion of the last edition were Lin Chia-yu and Huang Po-jui from Chinese Taipei. The bronze medals goes to the first seeded Lee Chun Hei / Ng Ka Long of Hong Kong and unseeded players Alfian Eko Prasetya / Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo of Indonesia, after defeated in the semifinals round. Another Indonesian pair Arya Maulana Aldiartama / Edi Subaktiar emerged as the champion after beat Wang Chi-lin / Wu Hsiao-lin of Chinese Taipei in the finals with the score 17–21, 22–20, 21–10.

Hong Kong competed at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia, from 18 August to 2 September 2018. Hong Kong made its debut at the Asian Games in 1954 Manila, and the best achievement for the territory was in 2010 Asian Games held in neighboring Guangzhou, finishing with 8 gold, 15 silver and 17 bronze medals totaling 40 medals. At the previous edition in held 4 years later in Incheon, the total number of medals increased to 42, but the number of gold medals fell to 6.
