The Japan national under-23 football team is a national association football youth team of Japan and is controlled by the Japan Football Association. The team won the gold medal at the 2010 Asian Games and were champions in the 2016 AFC U-23 Championship. Since 1992, it was decided that teams targeting athletes under the age of 23 will participate in the Olympics. Therefore, the name changes to Japan national under-22 football team the year before the Olympics and Japan national under-21 football team two years prior. The following is a list of squads for each nation competing in 2019 EAFF E-1 Football Championship Final in Busan, South Korea. Each nation must submit a squad of 23 players, including 3 goalkeepers.

The 2020 season is Kashima Antlers's 28th consecutive season in the J1 League, the top flight of Japanese football, since the introduction of professional football in 1993. The club finished the 2019 J1 League in third place, securing a play-off spot in the 2020 AFC Champions League. In addition to these competitions, they also competed in the Emperor's Cup and J.League Cup.

The 2021 season was Kashima Antlers' 29th consecutive season in the J1 League, the top flight of Japanese football since the introduction of professional football in 1993. The club finished the 2021 J1 League in fourth place, one place above their position from the previous season. They also competed in the Emperor's Cup and J.League Cup and reached the quarter finals of both competitions.

Shuhei Mizoguchi is a Japanese professional footballer who plays as a left back for J1 League club Kashima Antlers.
