The tournament, organized by FIBA Africa and hosted by Étoile Sportive du Sahel was contested by 12 clubs split into 2 groups of six, the top four of which qualifying for the knock-out stage, quarter, semifinals and final.

2017 FIBA Africa Womens Clubs Champions Cup

The 2017 FIBA Africa Women's Clubs Champions Cup, was an international basketball tournament that took place at the Pavilhão Multiusos do Kilamba, in Luanda, Angola, from November 11 to 19, 2017. The tournament, organized by FIBA Africa and hosted by Grupo Desportivo Interclube, was contested by 9 teams split into 2 groups, the first four of each group qualifying for the knock-out stage.

The 2018 season of Clube Desportivo Primeiro de Agosto is the club's 40th season in the Girabola, the Angolan Premier football League and 40th consecutive season in the top flight of Angolan football. In 2018, the club participated in the Girabola and the 2018 CAF Champions League.

Group C of the 2018–19 Africa Basketball League was the group stage of the 2018–19 Africa Basketball League for Al Ahly, Ferroviário da Beira, Primeiro de Agosto and REG BBC. Each team played each other once, for a total of three games per team, with all games played at the Prince Abdallah Al Faisal Sports Hall in Cairo. After all of the games were played, the two teams with the best records qualified for the final-eight round.
