The 2013 Mnet Asian Music Awards took place on November 22, 2013, at AsiaWorld-Arena in Hong Kong. [1] The ceremony was the fourth consecutive Mnet Asian Music Awards to occur outside of South Korea
Nominations were announced on October 23, 2013. Leading the nominees were Cho Yong-pil with six, followed by Psy, G-Dragon, and Girls' Generation with five nominations each. By the end of the ceremony, G-Dragon received the most wins with four awards, which includes the daesang (or grand prize) award "Artist of the Year
This event marked the fifteenth Mnet Asian Music Awards. [2] Using its slogan "Music Makes One" for the third consecutive time, MAMA was broadcast live in China, Japan, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia through various channels, as well as around the world.
This is the first time that the three daesang awards were presented separately. The first daesang, the song of the year award, was given at the end of the first block, the second daesang, the artist of the year award, was given at the end of the second block, and the third daesang, the album of the year award was given at the finale. After the last daesang award was given, Stevie Wonder performed. [3] More than 10,000 people attended the ceremony. [4]

The MAMA Awards is a major music awards ceremony presented annually by entertainment company CJ ENM. First held in South Korea, the majority of prizes has been won by K-pop artists, although there are other Asian artists winning in various award categories, such as for Best Asian Artist and other professional-related awards.
The 2010 Mnet Asian Music Awards was the twelfth of the annual music awards in Seoul, South Korea that took place on November 28, 2010, at The Venetian Macao in Macau, China. About 10,000 people attended the awards ceremony.
The 2011 Mnet Asian Music Awards took place on November 29, 2011, at Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore. The ceremony was the second Mnet Asian Music Awards to occur outside of South Korea, the first being in 2010 when the ceremony took place in Macau, China. The 2011 award show was attended by over 10,000 people.

The theme for the ceremony is titled "K-POP World Citizenship" with sub-themes per night, "The world we build together" for day 1, and "We are K-POP" for day 2. The ceremony is the first to carry the new rebranded name, the first to take place overseas during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the 24th in the show's history.
The 2024 MAMA Awards was an awards ceremony held on November 21 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California and on November 22 and 23 at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan. The event was organized by CJ ENM through Mnet. This was the first time the United States hosted the ceremony and the first time it was held outside Asia.
