<span class="mw-page-title-main">BigBang (South Korean band)</span> South Korean boyband

BigBang is a South Korean boy band formed by YG Entertainment. The group consists of three members: G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung. Originally a five-piece band, Seungri retired from the entertainment industry in March 2019 and T.O.P left in May 2023. Dubbed the "Kings of K-pop", they helped spread the Korean Wave internationally and are considered one of the most influential acts in K-pop. They are known for their trendsetting musical experimentation, self-production, and stage presence.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">T.O.P</span> South Korean rapper (born 1987)

Choi Seung-hyun, known professionally as T.O.P, is a South Korean rapper, singer, songwriter, and actor. He performed as an underground rapper before joining the record label YG Entertainment and debuted as the lead rapper of the boy band BigBang in 2006. The group became one of the best-selling groups of all time in Asia and one of the best-selling boy bands in the world. In 2010, while the group was on hiatus, T.O.P and G-Dragon collaborated to release the album, GD & TOP. As a solo rapper, he has released two digital singles, "Turn It Up" (2010) and "Doom Dada" (2013), that have peaked at number two and four, respectively, on the Gaon Digital Chart. He was convicted of marijuana use in 2017, which led to a surge of anti-fans among South Koreans.

"Strong Baby" is a song recorded by South Korean boy band Big Bang. Released on January 1, 2009, through YG Entertainment, it served as the second single from the quintet's second studio album Remember (2008). While the previous single "Sunset Glow" was promoted with all members, "Strong Baby" was performed solely by Seungri, formerly the youngest member of the group.

<i>Always</i> (BigBang EP) 2007 EP by Big Bang

Always is the first Korean EP by South Korean boy band Big Bang, released under YG Entertainment on August 16, 2007. Commercially, the album recorded pre-orders of 30,000 copies and sold over 55,000 copies by the end of October 2007.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Taeyang</span> South Korean singer (born 1988)

Dong Young-bae, better known by his stage name Taeyang or SOL, is a South Korean singer. He made his debut in 2006 as a member of the South Korean boy band BigBang. Following the release of several albums and extended plays with his group, Taeyang pursued a solo career in 2008, releasing his first extended play, Hot. The EP was acclaimed by critics and went to win the award for Best R&B & Soul Album at the 6th Korean Music Awards. Hot was followed by his first full-length studio album Solar (2010), which was released in July 2010 and peaked atop the Gaon Album Chart.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Daesung</span> South Korean singer (born 1989)

Kang Dae-sung, better known mononymously as Daesung and his Japanese stage name D-Lite, is a South Korean singer who made his musical debut in 2006 as a member of the South Korean boy band Big Bang. He debuted as a solo artist in South Korea with the number one trot song "Look at Me, Gwisoon" in 2008. Since the inception of the Gaon Digital Chart in 2010, Daesung achieved two Top 10 songs, the digital single "Cotton Candy" and "Wings" from the BigBang album Alive (2012).

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Japan Dome Tour</span> 2013–14 concert tour by Big Bang

The Japan Dome Tour was the fourth concert tour in Japan and seventh overall by South Korean band Big Bang. The tour visited six of Japan's major concert domes, making BigBang the first foreign artists to headline their own six-dome tour. The tour was one of the country's highest-grossing concert tours of the year, and grossed over US$70.6 million from sixteen shows, with all of the tickets from the tour being sold out.

"Bang Bang Bang" is a song recorded by South Korean boy band BigBang. Initially released as part of the single album A on June 1, 2015, through YG Entertainment, the song served as one of the eight lead singles from the band's third Korean-language studio album Made, which would be released more than a year later on December 13, 2016. It was written and composed by member G-Dragon along with long-time group collaborator Teddy Park, with additional rap parts penned by member T.O.P.

The Made World Tour was the second worldwide concert tour and ninth overall by South Korean boy band Big Bang, in support of their third Korean-language studio album Made (2016). The tour began on April 25, 2015, and concluded on March 6, 2016, in Seoul, South Korea. It visited 15 countries including China, Japan, Australia, Mexico, and the United States.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">0.TO.10</span> 2016–17 concert tour by Big Bang

0.TO.10 was the tenth concert tour by South Korean boy band Big Bang that was held to celebrate the group's tenth anniversary. The tour visited Japan, South Korea and Hong Kong from July 2016 to January 2017. The shows were live-streamed through theatres in Japan, Tencent QQ in China and Naver's V app. BigBang held 24 concerts in six cities, which attracted more than 1.1 million fans.

"Last Farewell" is a song by South Korean boy band BigBang. It was released through YG Entertainment on November 22, 2007 as the lead single from the quintet's second extended play Hot Issue. The song was written by G-Dragon and composed by the member and Brave Brothers. Mirroring the success of the group's preceding single "Lies," the song went on to become a chart topper. An English version of the song titled "Baby Baby" was included in the quintet's first and second Japanese albums Number 1 and Big Bang, as well in their greatest hits album The Best of Big Bang 2006-2014.

"Haru Haru" is a song by South Korean boy group Big Bang. Released through YG Entertainment on August 8, 2008, as the lead single for their third extended play Stand Up, it became one of their most popular singles and one of South Korea's best-selling songs, besides being regarded as one of the most influential singles to come out of Korean pop music. A Japanese version of the song was included in their third Greatest Hits album The Best of Big Bang (2011) and in the Japanese version of Alive (2012).

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Last Dance Tour</span> 2017 concert tour by Big Bang

The Last Dance Tour is the sixth concert tour in Japan and eleventh overall by South Korean boy band Big Bang. The tour began on November 18, 2017 in Fukuoka, Japan and concluded on December 31, 2017 in Seoul, South Korea. BigBang broke their own record by being the only foreign act to hold a dome-sized arena tour in Japan for the fifth consecutive year. The oldest member T.O.P did not perform on this tour due to his mandatory military service in South Korea which began in February 2017.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Flower Road</span> 2018 single by Big Bang

"Flower Road" is a song by South Korean boy band Big Bang. It was released digitally on March 13, 2018, by YG Entertainment, as a gift and a final farewell from the group to its fans ahead of a lengthy hiatus, as the band members serve in South Korea's mandatory military service. It would also end up being their last single to feature longtime lead dancer and sub vocalist Seungri before his retirement on March 11, 2019. It was written by G-Dragon and T.O.P and produced by the former along with The Fliptones, who also participated in creating GD X Taeyang's "Good Boy" and Taeyang's "Stay with Me".

YG Future Strategy Office (Korean: YG전략자료본부), abbreviated as YG FSO (YG전자), is a South Korean television series on Netflix starring Seungri as the head of YG Entertainment's fictional strategic resources department, with Yoo Byung-jae, Baek Young-kwang, Kim Ga-eun, Son Se-bin, and Sechs Kies' Lee Jai-jin starring as his co-workers. Various artists from YG Entertainment also appeared as guests.

The Burning Sun scandal, also known as Burning Sun gate, was a 2019 entertainment and sex scandal in Seoul, South Korea, which involved several celebrities, including Korean idols of popular K-pop groups, and police officials. It began on January 28, 2019, when MBC Newsdesk reported a November 2018 alleged assault of a male clubgoer at the Burning Sun, a prominent nightclub in Gangnam, by a staff member. The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency investigation soon turned to one concerning the club's alleged involvement in prostitution, drug trafficking and police corruption.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Still Life (BigBang song)</span> 2022 single by BigBang

"Still Life" is a song by South Korean boy band BigBang. It was released via YG Entertainment on April 5, 2022, serving as the group's first release in four years since "Flower Road" in 2018, as well as their only release as a quartet, due to T.O.P's departure the following year.
