M is the fourth single album by South Korean band Big Bang,and the first from their Made Series. It marks the first comeback for them after a three-year absence,which is also their first single album in nine years.
On April 17,YG Entertainment revealed the first teaser picture. [1] Later,trailer for BigBang's Made World Tour [2] [3] was unveiled. YG Entertainment announced the title tracks of BigBang's "MADE Series:M" in the third teaser. [4] Two of the four teasers for D-1 to D-4 consist of the song info,including who was responsible for the tracks' composition. G-Dragon revealed during the second concert of Made World Tour that he had a hard time making the album,since there are a big expectations for BigBang's comeback,he said,"In all honesty,I was in a slump that wasn't a normal slump. I worried a lot. The group has grown due to all the fans,so I unknowingly felt a heavy burden because it's been a long time since we released an album. I worried a lot because of this,but we worked well,as we continued." He added,"I thought to myself that I just need to work. We got together frequently and worked." [5] [6] [ unreliable source? ]
The album opened for pre-order on 24 to 30 April consisting of two singles which are both title tracks and is released worldwide through iTunes,Melon and other online music portals on May 1. There are two different versions of the album;M (black) and m (white). One contains only CD and Booklet (24p) while the other one contains CD,Booklet (24p) + Special kit (Puzzle ticket,5 photo cards and 1 limited photo card) + Poster.
M charted at number one on the Gaon Album Chart selling 130,130 copies in just two days,peaking at number two in April. [7] The album sold 137,261 copies in the first half of 2015. [8] The group debuted on Billboard's 'World Digital Songs' chart [9] [ unreliable source? ] with "Loser" charting 1st place and "Bae Bae" charting 2nd place on May 7. The music videos were also ranked 3rd and 4th most viewed K-pop M/V videos in the U.S. (April) according to Billboard.
After performing both songs during their Made Tour,BigBang held their first comeback stage on Inkigayo [10] on May 3,2015. On May 6,YG Entertainment announced the release of special clips for "Bae Bae" on 6 to 10 May. [11] [ unreliable source? ] BigBang had their second comeback on May 7 installment of MNET's M Countdown. On the May 10 episode on Inkigayo,BigBang made their third comeback. [12] [ unreliable source? ] BigBang also appeared on KBS' "Happy Together" on May 20,the first time featuring all of the members in a variety show.
In May 2015,BigBang started a cover contest,the contestant can upload any type of cover for "Loser" and "Bae Bae". The winners will win album,get featured on the playlist of BigBang's official YouTube Channel and get the chance to audition at YG Entertainment. The submission started on May 18 till May 29,2015. BigBang is a South Korean boy band formed by YG Entertainment. The group consists of three members: G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung. Originally a five-piece band, Seungri retired from the entertainment industry in March 2019 and T.O.P left in May 2023. Dubbed the "Kings of K-pop", they helped spread the Korean Wave internationally and are considered one of the most influential acts in K-pop. They are known for their trendsetting musical experimentation, self-production, and stage presence.
Dong Young-bae, better known by his stage name Taeyang or SOL, is a South Korean singer. He made his debut in 2006 as a member of the South Korean boy band BigBang. Following the release of several albums and extended plays with his group, Taeyang pursued a solo career in 2008, releasing his first extended play, Hot. The EP was acclaimed by critics and went to win the award for Best R&B & Soul Album at the 6th Korean Music Awards. Hot was followed by his first full-length studio album Solar (2010), which was released in July 2010 and peaked atop the Gaon Album Chart.
2NE1 is the self-titled debut extended play (EP) by South Korean girl group 2NE1. The album was released by YG Entertainment on July 8, 2009, and contains seven songs composed and produced by South Korean producers Teddy Park and Kush. Three singles were released in support of the record, including the LG Cyon promotional single "Lollipop", "Fire", and "I Don't Care". All three singles were met with success on the charts in South Korea, with the latter single winning Song of the Year at the 2009 Mnet Asian Music Awards.
Tonight is the fourth extended play of South Korean boy band Big Bang. It was their first new material released in South Korea after two-year hiatus as a group. Upon its release, the album and its lead single of the same name became a chart-topper in various South Korean and international music charts. Rise is the second studio album by South Korean recording artist Taeyang, member of the boy group Big Bang. It is his first album in four years since Solar in 2010. The song was written and composed by G-Dragon along with Teddy Park, with additional rap parts penned by T.O.P.
