The 2014 Calcutta Football League Premier Division A was the 116th season of the CFL Premier Division, a state league within the Indian state of West Bengal. The season kicked off on 16 September 2014. [1] [2]

East Bengal won the title for a record 36th time and also created a record by clinching the title for the 6th consecutive time.

The 2012–13 Mohun Bagan FC season was the club's 6th season in I-League and 123rd season since its establishment in 1889. The team finished runners-up in the Calcutta Football League and a dismal tenth in the I-League. They were crowned Champions in the Airlines Cup after Mohammedan refused to play the finals and gave a walkover. Mohun Bagan crashed out in the group stage of the Federation Cup and were defeated by arch rivals East Bengal in the semi-finals of the IFA Shield.

Tarif Saikh Ahmed is a former Indian professional footballer who played as a striker. He spent most of his career with Mumbai based club ONGC. He had also played for Mohun Bagan, Mohammedan S.C., Tollygunge Agragami, and Mahindra United. Ahmed also played internationally for India from 2006 to 2007.

The 2014–15 Mohun Bagan FC season was the club's 8th season in I-League and 125th season since its establishment in 1889. The team finished runners-up in the Calcutta Football League and were crowned Champions in the I-League. Mohun Bagan reached the semifinals of the King's Cup where they were defeated by Pune and they bowed out in the group stage of the Federation Cup.

The 2015–16 Mohun Bagan FC season was the club's 9th season in I-League and 126th season since its establishment in 1889. During this season, Mohun Bagan started the I-League as the defending champions. The team finished 3rd in the Calcutta Football League and runners-up in the I-League. Mohun Bagan were defeated by Shandong Luneng of China in the preliminary round 2 of the AFC Champions League and were eliminated from the competition at this stage. They bowed out of the AFC Cup in the round of 16 where they were defeated by the Tampines Rovers of Singapore. They were crowned Champions of the Federation Cup after they defeated Aizawl in the final.

The 2015–16 season is East Bengal FC's 96th season in existence. The club had won the Calcutta Football League this season and became the runners of 2015 Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup.

The 2016–17 Mohun Bagan FC season was the club's 10th season in I-League and 127th season since its establishment in 1889. They finished third in the Calcutta Football League and runners-up in the I-League. Mohun Bagan finished third in group stage of the AFC Cup and ended the season as runners-up of Federation Cup.

The Championship title is awarded only to the Group A winner, while four teams from Group A are relegated to Group B at the end of the season and 4 teams from Group B are simultaneously promoted to Group A for the next season. The league is divided into two groups – Division A and Division B. The Championship title is awarded only to the Division A winner, while four teams from Division A are relegated to Division B at the end of the season and four teams from Division B are simultaneously promoted to Division A for the next season. The fixtures of Division A and Division B started on 3 and 5 August 2018, respectively.

The 2018–19 Mohun Bagan FC season was the club's 12th season in I-League and 129th season since its establishment in 1889. They finished 5th in the I-League and were crowned Champions in the Calcutta Football League.

The 2003–04 season was East Bengal Football Club's 8th season in the National Football League, and also marked the club's 84th season. East Bengal successfully defended their league title from the previous season, competing in the 2003-04 NFL. They have also won the 2003 Calcutta Football League and the 2003 ASEAN Club Championship. They became runners-up in the 2003 Super Cup, 2003 Durand Cup and 2003 IFA Shield.

The 2021 Calcutta Football League Premier Division A was the 123rd season of the top state-level football league of West Bengal. It was held between mid-August and November 2021. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was decided to cancel Calcutta League last season, but it was played this year.

The 2005–06 season was East Bengal's 10th season in the National Football League and 86th season in existence.

The 2000 IFA Shield Final was the 106th final of the IFA Shield, the second oldest football competition in India, and was contested between Kolkata giants East Bengal and Mohun Bagan on 16 September 2000.
