The 2014 Men's World Floorball Championships were the 10th World Championships in men's floorball. The tournament took place in Gothenburg, Sweden in December 2014. Home team Sweden defended their title in a close game against Finland. Czech Republic earned the bronze after defeating Switzerland by 4–3. [1]
For the first time ever, all teams, except from the host country, must qualify for the Championships. A total of 30 teams are scheduled to take part in the qualification tournaments. [2]

Floorball is a type of floor hockey with five players and a goalkeeper in each team. It is played indoors with 96–115.5 cm-long (37.8–45.5 in) sticks and a 70–72 mm-diameter (2.76–2.83 in) plastic ball with holes. Matches are played in three twenty-minute periods. The sport of bandy also played a role in the game's development.
The 2010 Men's World Floorball Championships were the eighth men's Floorball World Championships. The tournament was held from 4 December to 11 December 2010 in the cities of Helsinki, and Vantaa, Finland.
The 2009 Men's under-19 World Floorball Championships were the fifth world championships in men's under-19 floorball. The tournament took place over May 6–10, 2009 in Turku, Finland.
Finland Men's National Floorball Team is the national floorball team of Finland. The national team was founded in 1985 and they played their first official game against Sweden in 1985. Finland has won four World Championships and 1 European Championships (1995). Finland has appeared in every World and European Championships tournament organised by the IFF and is the only team with Sweden to have won such a tournament.
The 2009 Men's under-19 World Floorball Championships were the fifth world championships in men's under-19 floorball. The tournament took place between 6 and 10 May 2009 in Raisio and Turku, Finland.
The 2012 IIHF World Championship was the 76th IIHF World Championship, an annual international ice hockey tournament. It took place between 4–20 May 2012 in Helsinki, Finland and Stockholm, Sweden. This tournament determined the countries' seeding for the men's Olympic Ice Hockey tournament in Sochi for the 2014 Winter Olympics, and for all countries participating in the qualification program leading up to the Olympics.
The 2010 Men's World Floorball Championships Qualifying rounds were the first such qualifiers for world championships in men's floorball. Four separate qualifying tournaments were played, with European qualifications between February 3 and February 6, 2010, in the cities of Babimost and Zbąszyń in Poland, as well as in the city of San Lorenzo de El Escorial in Spain.
The Czech Men's National Floorball Team is the national floorball team of the Czech Republic, and a member of the International Floorball Federation. Its biggest successes are silver medals from the 5th World Championships in 2004 and 14th World Championships in 2022, which both took place in Switzerland. The team also won three bronze medals in 2010, 2014 and 2021. That makes Czech team the third most successful team after Sweden and Finland. Czech Republic has appeared in every World and European Championships tournament organised by the IFF.
The 2012 Men's World Floorball Championships were the ninth men's Floorball World Championships. The tournament took place in Bern and Zurich, Switzerland in December 2012.
The 2016 Men's World Floorball Championships were the 11th World Championships in men's floorball. The tournament took place in Latvia in December 2016.
The men's tournament in ice hockey at the 2018 Winter Olympics was held in Gangneung, South Korea between 14 and 25 February 2018. Twelve countries qualified for the tournament; eight of them did so automatically by virtue of their ranking by the International Ice Hockey Federation, one, South Korea, automatically qualified as hosts, while the three others took part in a qualification tournament.
The qualifying for the 2016 Men's World Floorball Championships took place between 2 and 14 February 2016. A total of 33 teams competed for fifteen spots. The final tournament was organized by Latvia in December 2016.
The 2017 Women's World Floorball Championships was the 11th World Championships in women's floorball. The tournament took place in Bratislava in Slovakia between 1–9 December 2017. Sixteen teams participated and the competition was won by Sweden.
The 2018 Men's World Floorball Championships were the 12th World Championships in men's floorball. The tournament took place in Prague, Czech Republic, from 1 to 9 December 2018.
The 2019 IFF Women's World Floorball Championships was the 12th staging of the Women's World Floorball Championship, contested by the senior women's national teams of the members of the International Floorball Federation (IFF), the sport's global governing body. The final tournament took place in Neuchâtel, Switzerland from 7 to 15 December 2019. Switzerland played hosts for this event for the third time.
The 2020 Men's World Floorball Championships was the 13th World Championships in men's floorball. The tournament took place in Helsinki, Finland, during 3–11 December 2021. The tournament was originally intended to be played between 4–12 December 2020, but on 7 December 2020, it was announced it would be rescheduled one year into the future because of to the Coronavirus pandemic.
The 2021 Men's under-19 World Floorball Championships were the 11th world championships in men's under-19 floorball. The tournament took place from 25 to 29 August 2021 in Brno, Czech Republic.
The 2022 Men's World Floorball Championships was the 14th World Championships in men's floorball. The tournament was played in Zürich and Winterthur, Switzerland, and took place during 5–13 November, 2022.
The 2020 Women's under-19 World Floorball Championships was the 9th world championships in women's under-19 floorball and held on 1 to 5 September 2021 in Uppsala, Sweden. Originally scheduled to take place on 6 to 10 May 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Sweden, it was rescheduled to 2021.
The 2022 Women's under-19 World Floorball Championships will be the 10th world championship in women's under-19 floorball. The tournament will be played in Katowice, Poland, and will take place from 31 August to 4 September, 2022. The event was originally scheduled to be played in New Zealand on 4–8 May 2022 but due to COVID-19 pandemic in New Zealand, it was rescheduled to August and September 2022.
