    Oommen Chandy was the 10th chief minister of Kerala, serving from 2004 to 2006 and 2011 to 2016. He served also as the leader of the opposition in the Kerala Legislative Assembly from 2006 to 2011.

    Kozhikode International Airport, also known as Calicut International Airport, is an international airport serving the cities of Kozhikode and Malappuram in the state of Kerala, India. It is located at Karipur near Kondotty in the Malappuram district of the South Malabar region. It serves the Malabar region, consisting of Kozhikode, Malappuram, Wayanad and Palakkad. It is situated 28 km (17 mi) away from Kozhikode and 25 km (16 mi) away from Malappuram. It serves two of the seven metropolitan areas in the state—Kozhikode metropolitan area and Malappuram metropolitan area.The airport opened on 13 April 1988, and serves as an operating base for Air India Express and operates Hajj Pilgrimage services to Medina and Jeddah from Kerala. It is tied with Hyderabad in terms of international traffic. It received the international airport status on 2 February 2006. It is one of the few airports in the country with a tabletop runway.

    <span class="mw-page-title-main">Kerala State Road Transport Corporation</span> Transport corporation of Kerala

    Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) is a state-owned road transport corporation in the Indian state of Kerala. It is one of the country's oldest state-run public bus transport services. The corporation is divided into three zones, and its headquarters is in the state capital Thiruvananthapuram. Daily scheduled service has increased from 1,200,000 kilometres (750,000 mi) to 1,422,546 kilometres (883,929 mi), using 6,241 buses on 6,389 routes. The corporation transports an average of 3.145 million commuters per day.

    <span class="mw-page-title-main">Hill Highway</span> Proposed state highway in Kerala, India

    The Thiruvananthapuram–Kasaragod Hill Highway or State Highway 59 (SH-59) is a proposed state highway in Kerala. Upon completion, it will be the longest highway in Kerala, extending from Nandarapadavu in Kasaragod district to Parassala in Thiruvananthapuram district, at a length of 1332.16 km. The highway will pass through 13 of the 14 districts, the exception being Alappuzha as that district is not part of the hilly ranges of Kerala.

    <span class="mw-page-title-main">Silver Line (K-Rail)</span> Semi-high speed rail corridor

    The Silver Line is a proposed higher-speed rail line in India that would connect Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city, and Kasaragod of Kerala state. It will have an operating speed of 200 kilometres per hour (120 mph), Maximum Design Speed: 220 km/h (140 mph), structures designed for 250 km/h (160 mph) allowing trains to cover the 532-kilometre (331 mi) distance in less than four hours, compared to the present 10 to 12 hours it takes to traverse this distance. Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Chengannur, Kottayam, Kochi, Thrissur, Tirur, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod will be the stations in this corridor. The project is temporarily halted by the state government till the Central government approval.

    <span class="mw-page-title-main">Kerala Thunderbolts</span>

    Kerala Thunderbolts is an elite commando force of the Kerala Police under the India Reserve Battalion, set up in accordance with the Indian central government's directions post the 2008 Mumbai attacks. The commando force has been created to counter possible terror strikes and carry out counterinsurgency operations in Kerala. The force modeled on the Special Protection Group and National Security Guard are trained to engage in air, water and land attacks.

    <span class="mw-page-title-main">Sunni Students' Federation</span> Indian student organisation

    The Sunni Students Federation is an Islamic students' organisation in India. Originated in Kerala in 1973 under the patronage of Sheikh Abubakr Musliyar. It is affiliated to All India Sunni Jamiyyathul Ulama and Kerala Muslim Jamaath. SSF will hold the golden fifty National Conference at Mumbai on 2023 November 24, 25 and 26.

    Elections to local bodies in Kerala were held in December 2020. Polling took place over 3 days; on 8, 10 and 14 December, with the votes counted and results announced on 16 December.
