The 2016 Everest Premier League was the debut season of the Everest Premier League. It was supposed to be the second edition of the Nepal Premier League, abbreviated as NPL, and was scheduled to be held from 26 March to 4 April 2015 in Kirtipur. [1] [2] but Cricket Association of Nepal insisted that it will not support the tournament unless its name is changed. [3] Later, the board decided to uphold the tournament as the name was changed to Everest Premier League and provided the ground for competition. [1] The tournament began on 24 September and ended on 3 October 2016.

Contents

The title was won by Panchakanya Tej, who defeated Colors X-Factors by 40 runs in the final. Sompal Kami of Jagadamba Rhinos was player of the tournament.

The 2014 ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier was a cricket tournament that formed the final part of the Cricket World Cup qualification process for the 2015 World Cup. The top two teams qualified for the World Cup, joining Ireland and for the first time Afghanistan, both of whom already qualified through the 2011–13 ICC World Cricket League Championship and maintained their ODI status. The World Cup Qualifier was the final event of the 2009–14 World Cricket League. It was staged in New Zealand, from 13 January to 1 February 2014 after Scotland relinquished the right to host it. Scotland was originally scheduled to host the tournament in July and August 2013.

The 2014 Nepal Premier League was the first season of the Nepal Premier League. The event was organised by the Cricket Association of Nepal and managed by Zohra Sports Management. It was organised between May and June 2014 and consisted of a One Day tournament played in round-robin format followed by semi-finals and finals between the top four teams. Initially, the 2014 NPL was also supposed to include Twenty20 & Two Day tournaments but were later called off. Two-day tournament was called off by the organising committee due to bad weather conditions in the allocated venues amongst other reasons. Due to tight international schedule, ZSM was unable to complete the Twenty20 event, while telecommunication giants Ncell had also pulled out their sponsorship from the tournament. The Twenty20 & Two Day tournaments are expected to be included from the 2015 season onwards.

Everest Premier League (EPL) is a franchise Twenty20 cricket tournament organized by EPL Pvt. Ltd., a private group in Nepal. It is the biggest cricket tournament in the country, played during the northern winter calendar, mostly in the month of December. It is played in round-robin format in which top four teams qualify for the playoffs. The tournament is renowned for having high attendance among the domestic cricket of the ICC associate nations. The first edition of the tournament was held in September 2016 with six franchises consisting of domestic and international players. Chitwan Tigers are the defending champions after winning the 2021 season.

Panchakanya Tej or Panchakanya Tez or TEJ was a franchise team in the Nepal Premier League and the 2016 Everest Premier League. The team was captained by Nepalese player Sharad Vesawkar. The head coach of the team was former Nepali cricket player Kalam Ali. The team was managed by the Team Manager Mr. Gopal Wagley.

Jagdamba Rhinos is a cricket team that represents in the Everest Premier League. Shakti Gauchan, former captain of Nepal national cricket team, is the captain of the team, whereas Navin Singh is the head coach.

Kantipur Gurkhas is a cricket team based in Kathmandu, Nepal that plays in the Nepal Premier League. The team is currently led by Basanta Regmi, and coached by Samson Jung Thapa. The team is owned by Kantipur Publications.

The 2014 Nepal Premier League Twenty20 is the first season of the Nepal Premier League. The event is organised by the Cricket Association of Nepal and managed by Zohra Sports Management. It will be organised between May–June 2014 and will comprise 20 overs and 50 overs competitions played in round-robin format followed by semi-finals and finals between the top four teams. The 50 overs tournament ran between 14 and 24 May and the 20 overs tournament will run between 4–14 June. The 50 overs tournament was held in Kailali and Kanchanpur whereas the 20 overs tournament will be held in Kathmandu.

The 2015–2017 ICC World Cricket League Championship was the second edition of the ICC World Cricket League Championship. It took place from 2015 until 2017, in parallel with the 2015-17 ICC Intercontinental Cup. Both Ireland and Afghanistan had been promoted to the main ICC ODI Championship and did not compete in this tournament. Instead, Kenya and Nepal were included in the tournament. The tournament was played in a round-robin format. All matches were recorded as List A matches, and those in which both teams had ODI status were also recorded as ODIs.

Karan K.C. is a Nepalese professional cricketer. He was one of the eleven cricketers to play in Nepal's first ever One Day International (ODI) match, against the Netherlands, in August 2018.

The 2015 ICC Under-19 World Cup Qualifier was an international cricket tournament played in Malaysia from 14 to 22 October 2015, forming part of the 2015–16 international season. 2018 Dhangadhi Premier League is the second season of Dhangadhi Premier League, a franchise Twenty20 cricket league in Nepal. The tournament started on 31 March and ended on 14 April in Dhangadhi. Team Chauraha Dhangadhi were the defending champions.

The 2018–19 ICC T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier was the tournament played as part of qualification process for the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup.

The 2021 Everest Premier League, also known as EPL4 or Bajaj Pulsar EPL for sponsorship reasons, was the fourth edition of the Everest Premier League, a professional men's domestic Twenty20 cricket competition in Nepal. The event was initially scheduled for December 2019, before being postponed multiple times. Lalitpur Patriots were the defending champions, having won their first title in 2018, but were eliminated in the group stage after finishing fifth.

The 2020–21 Big Bash League season or BBL|10 was the tenth season of the Big Bash League, the professional men's Twenty20 domestic cricket competition in Australia, with 61 matches played. On 15 July 2020, Cricket Australia confirmed the fixtures for the tournament. Aasif Sheikh is a Nepalese cricketer, who plays as right-handed wicket-keeper batsman. He made his debut for Nepal against Netherlands in April 2021. He wins a ICC spirit cricketer of the year award due to Ireland incident during the ICC T20 World cup qualifiers at Oman in 2022.

The 2021–22 Big Bash League season or BBL|11 was the eleventh season of the Big Bash League, the professional men's Twenty20 domestic cricket competition in Australia. The tournament was played from 5 December 2021 and finished on 28 January 2022. The Perth Scorchers defeated the defending champions Sydney Sixers by 79 runs in the final to claim their fourth title.

The 2021–22 Pro50 Championship was the twentieth edition of the Pro50 Championship, a List A cricket tournament that was played in Zimbabwe. It started on 11 November 2021, with five teams taking part. Rhinos were the defending champions.
