Quinnipiac University is a private university in Hamden, Connecticut. The university grants undergraduate, graduate, and professional degrees. It also hosts the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute.
The Quinnipiac Bobcats are the 21 sports teams representing Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut in intercollegiate athletics. The Bobcats compete in the NCAA Division I and are members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, joining on July 1, 2013, after being in the Northeast Conference.
The Quinnipiac Bobcats women's ice hockey program represents Quinnipiac University. The Bobcats have competed in ECAC Hockey since the 2005-2006 season where they replaced Vermont when the Catamounts moved to Hockey East. Prior to that season the Bobcats competed in College Hockey America for the 2004-2005 season, played as a Division I Independent for the 2002-2003 and 2003-2004 seasons, and in the ECAC Division I Eastern division for the 2001-2002 season.
The Quinnipiac Bobcats men's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college ice hockey program that represents Quinnipiac University. The Bobcats are a member of ECAC Hockey. They play at the M&T Bank Arena in Hamden, Connecticut.
The 2011–12 Quinnipiac Bobcats women's ice hockey season was the 11th season of play for the Quinnipiac Bobcats program. They represented Quinnipiac University during the 2011-12 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season and played their home games at TD Bank Sports Center. The Bobcats competed in the Nutmeg Classic on November 25 and 26.
Anna Kilponen is a Finnish ice hockey defenceman, currently playing in the Naisten Liiga (NSML) with the Ilves Tampere. She played four seasons of college ice hockey in the NCAA Division I, two seasons with the North Dakota Fighting Hawks and two seasons with the Quinnipiac Bobcats. Following her college career, she has played in the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL) with Linköping HC, in the Zhenskaya Hockey League (ZhHL) with the KRS Vanke Rays, in the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF) with the Metropolitan Riveters, and in the Swiss Women's League with the ZSC Lions Frauen.
Matthew Peca is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward for the Springfield Thunderbirds in the American Hockey League (AHL). He was selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the seventh round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. After playing four years at Quinnipiac University, he made his NHL debut during the 2016–17 season.
Kelly Babstock is a Canadian-American ice hockey player, currently playing in the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) with PWHL Boston. She has Ojibwe roots and is originally from Little Current on Manitoulin Island, part of the Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory.
Michael Garteig is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender who is currently playing for ERC Ingolstadt in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). Garteig has previously played for Utica Comets and Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League (AHL).
The 2014–15 Quinnipiac Bobcats women's ice hockey season was the 14th season of play for the Quinnipiac Bobcats program. They represented Quinnipiac University during the 2014-15 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season and played their home games at TD Bank Sports Center. Their 26 wins were the fifth most in the nation, and they remained nationally ranked throughout the season. Their success earned them a berth in the NCAA Tournament, but they were defeated by their ECAC rivals, Harvard, in the first round.
The 2015–16 Quinnipiac Bobcats women's ice hockey season was the 15th season of play for the Quinnipiac Bobcats program. They represented Quinnipiac University during the 2015-16 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season and played their home games at TD Bank Sports Center. They won the ECAC Hockey tournament championship for the first time in program history.
Devon Toews is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman for the Colorado Avalanche of the National Hockey League (NHL). Nicknamed "Tazer", Toews was drafted 108th overall by the New York Islanders in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. Toews won the Stanley Cup with the Avalanche in 2022.
Brogan Rafferty is an American professional ice hockey defenseman for the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League (AHL) while under contract to the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League (NHL).
Melissa Samoskevich is an American ice hockey player and director of player development and operations for the Quinnipiac Bobcats women's ice hockey program. She was previously an assistant coach for the Penn State Nittany Lions women's ice hockey program. She plays for the Connecticut Whale of the National Women's Hockey League.
Sydney Rossman is American retired ice hockey goaltender, who played with both the Minnesota Whitecaps and the Connecticut Whale of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF).
Emma Greco is a Canadian ice hockey defenceman for PWHL Boston of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). Greco has been described as a reliable stay-at-home defenceman.
Odeen Peter Tufto is an American professional ice hockey center who is currently playing with EHC Olten in the Swiss League (SL). After spending four seasons with the Quinnipiac Bobcats men's ice hockey team, he signed an entry-level contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning for the 2021–22 season.
Corinne Schroeder is a Canadian ice hockey goaltender, currently playing in the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) with PWHL New York.
Taylor House is an American professional ice hockey player, currently playing in the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL) with MoDo Hockey Dam. She previously played in the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF) with the Boston Pride and her college ice hockey career was played with the Quinnipiac Bobcats women's ice hockey program in the ECAC Hockey conference of the NCAA Division I.
Nicole Kosta is a Canadian professional ice hockey player for PWHL Boston of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). She previously played for the Connecticut Whale of the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL) and the Markham Thunder of the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL). She played college ice hockey at Quinnipiac.
