The 2011 Twin Anchors Invitational was held from September 29 to October 3 at the Vernon Curling Club in Vernon, British Columbia as part of the 2011–12 World Curling Tour. The women's event, held in a round-robin format, began on September 29 and concluded on October 2, and the men's event, held in a triple-knockout format, began on September 30 and concluded on October 3. The purses for the men's and women's were CAD$27,000 and CAD $35,000, respectively.
The Stu Sells Tankard, previously known as the Stu Sells Toronto Tankard, is an annual bonspiel, or curling tournament, that takes place at the Barrie Curling Club in Barrie, Ontario. The event is held in a round-robin format, however, was held in a triple-knockout format for many years. The tournament is sponsored by Stu Sells, a local real estate company, and is part of the "Stu Sells Series" or events, which includes the Stu Sells Oakville Tankard, the Stu Sells 1824 Halifax Classic, and a number of other junior and local tour events. The men's event became a World Curling Tour event in 2011, but was later discontinued after the 2019 edition. The women's event became a World Curling Tour event in 2016, but was also discontinued in 2020. Both the men's and women's events are also part of the Ontario Curling Tour.

The purse for the men's event was CAD$30,000, of which the winner, William Lyburn, received CAD$10,000, while the purse for the women's event was CAD$24,000, of which the winner, Darcy Robertson, received CAD$8,000. In the men's final, Lyburn defeated Alexander Attinger of Switzerland with a score of 8–1 in four ends, while in the women's final, Robertson defeated her sister, defending champion Barb Spencer, with a score of 6–4 in an extra end.
The 2012 Madison Cash Spiel was held from November 30 to December 2 at the Madison Curling Club in Madison, Wisconsin as part of the 2012–13 World Curling Tour. The event was held in a round robin format. In the men's final, Pete Fenson won his second consecutive title and fourth title overall with a win over former teammate John Shuster. Fenson defeated Shuster in an extra end with a score of 6–5. In the women's final, Erika Brown defeated Jill Mouzar with a score of 8–7 to win her second consecutive and overall title.
