The NextEra Energy 250 is the first race of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season at Daytona International Speedway and as of 2004 has been held under the lights. It is the Truck Series event of Speedweeks – the series of races leading up to the Daytona 500.

The 2009 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series was the fifteenth season of the Camping World Truck Series, the third highest stock car racing series sanctioned by NASCAR in the United States. It was contested over twenty-five races, beginning with the NextEra Energy Resources 250 at Daytona International Speedway and ending with the Ford 200 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The season was the first under the Camping World sponsorship banner. Camping World, announced on October 23, 2008, that they would sponsor the series for the next seven seasons. Ron Hornaday Jr. won and clinched the championship for Kevin Harvick, Inc. at Phoenix, one race early.

The 2017 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series was the 23rd season of the third highest stock car racing series sanctioned by NASCAR in North America. The season began with the NextEra Energy Resources 250 at Daytona International Speedway on February 24, 2017, and ended with the Ford EcoBoost 200 at Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 17. Johnny Sauter entered the season as the defending drivers' champion. This was the final season for Brad Keselowski Racing and for Red Horse Racing.

The 2018 NextEra Energy Resources 250 was the first stock car race of the 2018 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season, and the 19th iteration of the event. The race was held on Friday, February 16, 2018 in Daytona Beach, Florida at Daytona International Speedway, a 2.5 miles (4.0 km) triangle-shaped superspeedway racetrack. The race would take 100 laps to complete. In a wreck filled race, Johnny Sauter driving for GMS Racing would survive and hold off the field to win the race. To fill out the podium, Justin Haley of GMS Racing and Joe Nemechek, driving for his own team NEMCO Motorsports would finish 2nd and 3rd, respectively.

2022 NextEra Energy 250 First race of the 2022 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series

The 2022 NextEra Energy 250 was the first stock car race of the 2022 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season and was the 23rd iteration of the event. The race was held on Friday, February 18, 2022, in Daytona Beach, Florida, at Daytona International Speedway, a 2.5 mile (4 km) permanent asphalt superspeedway. The race was extended from 100 laps to 106 laps due to a NASCAR overtime finish. At race's end, the race was won by Zane Smith under caution after a wreck had occurred on the final lap. The win was Smith's fourth career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series win and his first win of the season. To fill out the podium, Ben Rhodes and Christian Eckes of ThorSport Racing would finish second and third, respectively.
