The 2020 season was Penang's 93rd competitive season, 2nd consecutive season in the second tier of Malaysian football since relegated in 2017, and 98th year in existence as a football club. [1]

On 23 January 2019, the club announced New Jersey kit for the 2020 Malaysia Premier League season. [3]

The 2017 Malaysia FA Cup was the 28th season of the Malaysia FA Cup a knockout competition for Malaysia's state football association and clubs. The final was played between Pahang and Kedah at the Shah Alam Stadium in Shah Alam, Selangor. Kedah beat Pahang 2–3 to win the cup for the fourth time.

It is the first season after restructuring, with 18 teams featuring in the 2023 season. However, MFL announced that next season there will be only 16 teams as they rejected both Sarawak United and Melaka United due to failed licensing appeal. The league shrunk to 15 teams after Petaling Jaya City officially withdrawn from the league due to the expansion of the league and increased foreign player quota, which are diverted from the club's main vision. On 5 January 2023, UiTM officially withdrawn from the league due to the financial problem. The new season will be 14 teams which the campaign will kick-off on 24th February 2023.
The 2022 season was the seventh season in the existence of Kelantan United Football Club. The participated in Malaysia Premier League, Malaysia FA Cup and Malaysia Cup.
The 2019 season was Kelantan's 74th year in their history and 1st season in the Malaysia Premier League following relegation 2018 season. Along with the league, the club also participated in Malaysia FA Cup and Malaysia Challenge Cup.
