The 1999 Sanex Trophy singles was the singles event of the first edition of the Sanex Trophy; a WTA Tier IV tournament and one of the most prestigious women's tennis tournament held in Belgium.

Elise Mertens and Aryna Sabalenka defeated Barbora Krejčíková and Kateřina Siniaková in the final, 6–2, 6–3, to win the women's doubles tennis title at the 2021 Australian Open. It was their second major doubles title as a team, after the 2019 US Open. With the win, Sabalenka claimed the world No. 1 doubles ranking.

Two-time defending champion Barbora Krejčíková and her partner Rajeev Ram defeated Samantha Stosur and Matthew Ebden in the final, 6–1, 6–4 to win the mixed doubles tennis title at the 2021 Australian Open. By winning the title, Krawczyk and Salisbury received their third and second major mixed doubles title, respectively. Their victory together made Krawczyk the first player to win three consecutive mixed doubles major trophies since Mahesh Bhupathi in 2005 and 2006, and the seventh player in the Open Era to win three mixed doubles titles in a single season.
