The 2021 Poland Open was an amateur wrestling event held in Warsaw, Poland between 8 and 13 June 2021. It served as the last United World Wrestling Ranking Series event of the year and played a role with regard to the 2020 Summer Olympics and 2021 World Championships' seeding. [1] The event consisted of three competitions: the Waclaw Ziolkowski Memorial (men's freestyle wrestling), Wladyslaw Pytlasinski Cup (men's Greco-Roman wrestling) and Poland Open (women's wrestling). Joseph Christopher McKenna is an American freestyle wrestler and graduated folkstyle wrestler who competes internationally at 65 kilograms and formerly competed collegiately at 141 pounds. In freestyle, he is a two-time and reigning Pan American Continental champion, claimed a bronze medal from the 2017 U23 World Championships, was the 2018 US Open National Champion, the runner–up at the 2020 US Olympic Team Trials and 2021 US World Team Trials and was also the 2014 Junior World Championship runner–up. The 2022 World Wrestling Championships was the 17th edition of the World Wrestling Championships of combined events and was held between 10 and 18 September 2022 in Belgrade, Serbia. After Frank Chamizo, wrestling for Italy in the men's freestyle 74 kg category, was found to be doping, the bronze medal was given to Soner Demirtaş of Turkey.
