The 2022 AMA Supercross season is the 49th season of professional stadium off-road motorcycle racing in the United States. [1]
The season began on January 8 at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California, running until the final race in Salt Lake City, in late May. [2]
In round 3 at San Diego, Chase Sexton and Michael Mosiman each won their first events in the 450cc and 250cc classes respectively. [3]
Eli Tomac won his sixth career Daytona Supercross race at Round 9, eclipsing Ricky Carmichael's record for the most top class wins at Daytona. With the victory, he also tied Ryan Villopoto for the fifth-most wins in the AMA's premier class. [4]
Eli Tomac clinched the title at round 16 in Denver, CO with a 5th place finish over runner-up, and winner of the race, Jason Anderson. [5]

The AMA Supercross Championship is an American motorcycle racing series. Founded by the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) in 1974, the AMA Supercross Championship races are held from January through early May. Supercross is a variant of motocross which involves off-road motorcycles on a constructed dirt track consisting of steep jumps and obstacles; the tracks are usually constructed inside a sports stadium. The easy accessibility and comfort of these stadium venues helped supercross surpass off-road motocross as a spectator attraction in the United States by the late 1970s.
James Stewart Jr., also known as Bubba Stewart, is an American former professional motocross racer who competed in the AMA Motocross Championship and the AMA Supercross Championships. Through his years of racing, he earned the nickname "The Fastest Man on The Planet".
Chad Mark Reed is an Australian motocross and supercross racer. He is a two-time AMA Supercross 450cc champion, a one-time AMA Motocross 450cc champion, record holder for the most main event starts in AMA Supercross history with 265 starts, as well as podium finishes with 132.
Ryan Daniel Villopoto is an American former professional motocross and supercross racer who competed in the AMA Motocross Championships from 2005 to 2014; a four-time 450cc AMA Supercross Champion, a two-time 450cc AMA Motocross Champion, a three-time 250cc AMA Motocross Champion & a one-time 250cc West Supercross Champion. He was also a member of the winning USA team at the 2006, 2007, 2008 & 2011 Motocross Des Nations.

The Monster Energy Cup is an exhibition race hosted by the AMA Supercross Championship that takes place in the Fall. The event started in 2011 and has been held at the Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas every year since. A US $1 million purse is available to any rider who is able to win all three featured races.

The 2020 AMA Supercross Championship is an American motorcycle racing championship that started January 4, 2020, and ended June 21, 2020. Ten of the 17 rounds had been completed when the season was suspended on March 12, 2020, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The SuperMotocross World Championship is the premier combined discipline American of off-road motorcycle racing. Conceived in 2023 after the AMA Supercross Championship lost its FIM World Championship status, the series consists of the aforementioned Supercross series and the AMA Motocross Championship, followed by two playoff races and a final to determine the SuperMotocross world champion.
Aaron Plessinger is an American professional motocross and supercross racer. Plessinger has ridden professionally in the AMA Supercross Championship and the AMA Motocross Championship since 2015. He is a one-time AMA Supercross 250cc West & AMA Motocross 250cc Champion.
The 2024 SuperMotocross World Championship is the second edition of the premier combined discipline off-road motorcycle racing competition, held in the United States. Combining the AMA Supercross Championship and the AMA Motocross Championship, along with three final SuperMotocross rounds, the total length of the series will run from January to September.
